“Love canal episode
This is my first bad review of a Podcast. I am on a mission of accuracy. The Swindles Podcast tells the woeful story of a small government (School Board) being a victim of an evil capitalist defense contrator chemical company. This podcast makes it sound as though Hooer Chemical could not wait to get the love canal property off their hands and made it seem as though they were eager despite knowing children would be exposed if a school were built there, that is BS on the part of the Podcaster.
The podcast makes it sound as if Hppker set up first on the canal and just began dumping, that was not the case, in fact the dump was first used by local government and then Army prior to Hooker utilizing the sight. Beofe Hooker began dumping operations they pumped the canal, lined it with compacted clay to contain the chemicals and thet made the dangerous chemicals were at least 22 feet deep.
Eventully the dump was covered and no longer used for new dumping and that was when the Niagra School board came offer Hooker money for the land. Hooker said no wanting nothing to do with selling unsuitable land that my be a health hazard and what did this benovolent school board do then? Why they threatend to take the land from Hooker by eminant domain. Thats a way different story then this podcast tells, the story they told is one of a laughing Hooker Chemical selling the land for a dollar and never mentioning the chemicals burried, in fact the Podcaster explicitly says no one mention chemicals, well here is the actual text attached to the deed "prior to the delivery of this instrument of conveyence, the grantee herein has been advised by the grantor that the premises above decribed have been filled, in whole or in part, to the present grade level thereof, with waste products resulting from the manufacture of chemicals, So basically what the podcaster in this episode said was BS. I do not like pages posts, or podcasts with conservtive spin, I do not like pages, posts, or podcasts with Liberal spin I like the accuracy and I did not get that here, I want my 41 minutes back”Read full review »

“Swindled podcast is incredibly well done. It's clear to me that each episode is thoroughly researched and compiled, making for great story telling. I appreciate this podcast keeping things fresh, covering stories much less mainstream from your typical "American Greed."
