There are hundreds of kids in our communities that go to bed hungry each night with no food to eat. Carolyn Jarnagin of Hamblen County is trying to change that with her organization called Food on Foot, which sends food bags home with kids in need on the weekend. She explains how Food on Foot got started and why it's her mission to end childhood hunger.

This year Grainger County FFA can finally go to Oklahoma as they will be representing the Volunteer State on the national level in land judging. The state 4-H and FFA contest was held recently at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville.

Congressman John Rose of Tennessee's sixth congressional district won re-election on Tuesday night. Rose says he's ready to work with President Elect Donald Trump & a Republican controlled Senate to enact policy that will help farmers in a tough Ag economy. One of the ways he hopes to do that is by passing a Farm Bill. Rose says the fate of a new Farm Bill is uncertain post election in the lame duck session as the balance of power in the US House Of Representatives is still uncertain.

Quite an event for the students and community in Fentress County.  The second annual Feather to Fork event was recently held at the Sawbriar hunting preserve near Allardt.  This has been a dream of owner Fred Moody, a former graduate of Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute, to involve the ag program at the school and the one day pheasant and quail hunting adventure on the farm.

His new truck was made possible in large part by the $35,000 he received from winning the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Excellence In Agriculture Award. It’s been four weeks since the remnants of Hurricane Helene left its forever mark in Northeast Tennessee.  Several ag industry partners came together this week to provide a meal and a listening session for those that farm in the area and were impacted.

A Newspaper reporter from France is spending some time in Alabama & Southern Tennessee studying and talking to cotton farmers. Cotton is not grown in France, so the french reporter hopes to capture the historical and family aspect of growing cotton in the US to help people back home in France understand how to crop is grown.
