Who knew ‘Tolkien on Non-violence’ was what I needed to hear this week as we try to find a voice on Israel-Gaza? But, as ever, Tent Talks managed to be inclusive and insightful, kind and challenging, different from anything else in my church/theology/politics world. Thank you!

Excellent podcast on Christian political theology. Stephen and his co-hosts Chart the narrow Christ-like way through the vexed political tribalisms of our day. Everyone should listen to this. Update: Seems to have gone in a more deconstructionist direction recently. More blandly...Read full review »

It’s refreshing - and such a relief! - to hear in every episode Christians defining the faith by that which is instructed in the Bible. Not capitalism. Not patriotism. But true faith - loving God and TRULY loving our fellow humans. This show explores and dissects the difficult topics, providing...Read full review »

If you think Christianity has more to off the then this podcast is for you. A truly breathtaking exploration of the socio-political dynamics America Christianity and it’s international exports. More than just a “deconstruction rant” there is solid and historically informed biblical teaching.

This is just a brilliant podcast, challenging, engaging, and fearless. Stephen and the team and their guests are super interesting, relevant and honestly has been transformational in my own thought life over this last year or so. Well worth following and connecting in with.

More people & podcasts are talking these days about the things Jesus taught (in the 4 gospels), but there are a few of his teachings that almost never get serious coverage. Several references (EXCLUDING the “rich young ruler”) are made in Luke about selling all of one’s possessions &...Read full review »

I’d been starting to hear some of these ideas in bits and pieces over the last 5 years. Some things just ring so true! It’s been an incredible resource for me to have this podcast. I found out about it when Paul Young and Brad Jersak were on, and have continued to listen. There have been moments...Read full review »

Splits the nationalism-Jesus confusion with the stark clarity much needed at these times. Dispatches the nonsense and stirs the bones.

Although I may not land the same place as Backhouse or his cohosts at every turn, Stephen shares his heart and his extremely diligent and thorough work into nationalism and how it is synonymous with Christianity in today’s world. If I could convince every Christian trump follower to listen to...Read full review »
