I love Joe Devine and the Tifo Football Podcast, it’s such a great show!

Opening adverts, then 2 mins in more adverts, then more adverts. What is this? A football podcast or a shopping podcast!

As a Spurs fan J find it slightly disorienting to here all clubs, leagues, and organizing bodies/crime syndicates treated with the same irreverent mockery as my dear Tottenham. Hilarious!

I never review podcasts but I was forced to come out of retirement, even though I’m not sure if you read these anymore, by your Terry Pratchett reference. Well done, thank you to the whole team for this show <3

Iain, New Englander checking in here, Loving the podcast, and feeling strongly enough to comment on your recent poor, poor, poor (underlined), take on Jose Mourinho’s recent antics/comments in the media - I suggest you give Tifo Football’s ‘Mourinho, Fenerbache & Conspiracy Theories’ a...Read full review »

Iain has created the ideal briefing podcast so you can stay up to date on everything happening in football, with a nice bit of humour and lightheartedness thrown in. Very good style, delivery and content, the Athletic should replicate it for all other major sports! Keep it up, I listen...Read full review »

Great start to my mornings here in Japan. The “allo I’m Ian Mackintosh” always brings me in. Also: you need to update the show presenter name on Apple Podcasts, still says Michael Bailey.

Iain is great. I didn’t mean what I said about him on my Tifo review

Recently found this show. It is terrific, driven by the top shelf personality i have enjoyed over the years. Ian accents the reporting of the day’s football doings with his own brand of humor and comment. Perfect mix. I fondly recall, years ago, Ian’s seminal work reviewing all the EFL grounds...Read full review »

Such a great show! As a soccer loving family (and long suffering Leeds fans) we listen together every morning over breakfast before rushing out the door. Appreciate it if you could give a shout out to our twin boys, Edwin & Parker (center-back & center-mid for the New Jersey Hopewell...Read full review »

As they say / have said /or possibly never did say in England, jolly good.

It’s easy to find a quick hitting podcast with info about the Premier League results- much harder is finding a podcast that covers the other tiers of English football and the rest of Europe. This podcast does it all. We need more updates on Iain’s Civilization VI play though!
Eshelmsc via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/04/24
Let’s forget for a moment that I love the football. If you want to learn how to put together a high-quality podcast, then write down notes while you’re listening.

My daily trudge of a commute has developed a new routine since I have been woefully made fun of for being “ill informed” in the office on the PL, la liga, Serie A as if one can even know it all. Now I can simply parrot Ian’s opinions and pawn them off as my own! Until I realized my coworkers were...Read full review »

As an Englishman living in the US it’s wonderful to get such a brief and meaningful daily update on all that’s happening with the greatest game in the world. Thanks Ian for keeping it brief, insightful and fun.

I have no idea what time Iain Macintosh gets up to publish this, but it’s out before I walk the dog, which is fantastic because our dog is a bit grumpy first thing. I can listen to it while the she wakes up. Outstanding show.

I have been a listener to The Daily Football Briefing since it started and love it. Iain MacIntosh is a great presenter, but I love it when Abi Paterson hosts. I have always found it covers the best bits of world football really well. Obviously it has a particular focus on the English Premier...Read full review »

Good quick review of the previous day’s action with access to a good range of club or league experts. Please, however, stop finishing by saying ‘I’ve been ——-‘ it sounds stupid. Also, attempts at humour are a bit tacky at times and sound lame- stick to good content- we can get comedy elsewhere 😉

Honestly only writing this so I can get a mention and become famous, but I do quite like the show and enjoy the humor Iain has added to it. I hope he lasts until the end of the season so I can hear him eat his words calling chelsea a “worse” team when we lift the ever-storied UCL.
eden_harold via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/15/24
Listen to it on my way to work and enjoy the banter on Chelsea and spurs as an Arsenal fan from the states !!

Wanted to like this podcast but just can’t get past the presenter’s inability to pronounce his words correctly (blame my father). What’s weird is he says “three” with a “th” but says Portsmouth with an “f”. Why? And don’t get me started on “Communitee”.
James Burgon via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/14/24
I’m first in line if Ian ever starts a stand up comedy tour. Keeps this American well apprised of the most important football news and always brings a laugh!
Hootenanny10 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/14/24
…with a dash of that British humour I love. I listen to a couple of individual team podcasts, but this gives you a good overview without drowning on and on and on like some “we cover all things” podcasts. I can’t recommend it enough.

Ian once replied to my boring email about Luton town back in his totally football league show days. For that and this very good show, he deserves all the five star reviews.

This podcast used to be succinct, would give 7-8 mins of info and finish. It now tries to be whimsical, and spends a couple of minutes pleading for 5 star reviews and reading out the ones that comply.

Ian delivers as expected, never a man to miss self promotion 👍🏻 I’ll change it to 5* for a shout out Ian Great way to catch up on all the news while blearily eyed brushing your teeth, trying to wake up. Delighted to have the daily briefing back for the new season, but how could you spend so much time on meaningless friendlies and leave out the return of league football north of the border!

I’m going to miss these dispatches. No one in my immediate world cared about the Euros, but Iain brought me uptodate and convinced me that I share the football obsession with others, even sophisticates.

If I was teaching a media course on how to put together an excellent podcast, then my classroom would be studying his “The Daily Football Briefing” while taking a lot of notes.

I’m leaving this review both because I enjoy the show each morning - a short sweet update on what’s happening in the world of football that doesn’t take itself too seriously - but also because I had a premonition that if I left this review, England would win the final tomorrow
