Saving my life and hopefully my marriage
Thank you. I started binge listening a month after I discovered my husband’s addictive behaviors in Jan. I’m working a good program, have a sponsor and have surrounded myself with folks who are supportive and have experienced what I’m going through. My husband has not but has attempted to. He is attending therapy and ‘tries’ to go to meetings but there is always something and he has shared with me that even his therapist has told him that he acts like a visitor/observer in all of his meetings and appointments. Thanks to you all- I have slowly come to realize that my husband’s reluctance to work a program and even his acting out has nothing to do with me but rather with him. He may blame me but it’s not me. I have gained so much perspective on myself and through this podcast have learned to be gentle but honest with myself and my own addictive behavior. Listening to the team talk on this show has taught me what my husband is going through and has helped me learn how to be empathetic but not an enabler. My husband slipped this past week and he shared with me that he went to the episodes on relapse immediately to learn- I can only pray that the influence you have had on me will be similar to the one you’ll have on my husband to work his program. after my husband’s first slip I have put boundaries that will assist in my own self care and will help me feel safe which included asking him not to debrief his thought process that led him to his relapse with me before he talks it out with others and allow me time to process- which thanks to ya’ll he agreed to (he has never given me this type of space before). This podcast coupled with my 12 step programming and therapy has been a godsend- my stumbling upon it one day was truly an act from my higher power. Much love- CD

This is so true to my life, I’ve never had anyone or read anything on this topic and the conclusions I’d made an felt so unsure of making them if that makes sense. Your really dealing with the deep psychological balances (plus and minuses) one makes when they are dealing with betrayal and...Read full review »

I hope these podcast authors have the confidence in their statements to read some of the negative reviews too. While sex addiction is very legitimate, I am one of the many many people misdiagnosed by people who embrace an overly constrictive definition of "sex addiction" which is flatly...Read full review »
