I am a Python developer and derive a lot of value and enjoyment from the podcast despite the fact that the hosts are Ruby developers. The podcast does an excellent job in presenting topics of interest to all software developer, so don’t be put off by the hosts “day jobs.”

The two co-hosts have chemistry and the show is also well edited. It wouldn't surprise me if somebody on the team has radio experience. The show sounds like a bubbly chat ar the coffee machine between two senior engineers. On the technical side it definitely leans toward Ruby on Rails...Read full review »

One of the best tech podcasts. Highly recommend!

I’m a long time dev and I have to say this is my favourite tech podcast. Both hosts are very humble but experienced. I find myself relating to their challenges and always learn something from their thought process. I appreciate the balance of brevity and diving into the weeds of a meaty technical...Read full review »

Despite being a side project of Thoughtbot, this podcast is surprisingly well produced and always has interesting guests and topics. Even though it might seem a bit lazy, I actually like that they source a lot of their guests internally because it seems like all the guests and hosts are...Read full review »

Steph is delightful! I love the cadence of the conversations with Chris and Steph — they don’t overly explain but still go into depth on practical issues

Bike Shed is an awesome podcast by the people at thoughtbot. They produce a bunch of different podcasts, but this is by far my favorite. Always interesting interviews that provide a wealth of information into Ruby on Rails development and web development in general. Highly recommend.

This podcast is technical, enjoyable, and reliably published. I look forward to it coming out every week! If you are a Rubyist you can’t afford to miss this podcast!

I listened and looked forward to this podcast every week for a few months. A couple weeks ago, Dereck (sp?) and Sean announced they’d be handing over the reins; since then I’ve lost interest. I really enjoyed their combination of smarts, experience, and not taking things too seriously. While I...Read full review »

I've been working on Ruby on Rails projects for sometime now and I like listening to this podcast because, every now and then, I learn something new or can relate to the hosts' experiences.

I started listening from the beginning about a 1-2 weeks ago and am not only on episode 65 now but have also caught the most recent episodes. The discussion, observations and diversity of tech thinkers on the different episodes is inspirational and educational.

Well structured although it feels just like a conversation. All the hosts are great. The only issue is Amanda needs to say "yeah" less between Sean's sentences! It sometimes makes it unlistenable.Read full review »

Sean, Derek, Laila, and guests are always filled with great stories of how they solved some development problem. Part of what makes this podcast so great is it's not scripted. "Topics" are whatever they've been working on or thinking about recently. This lets the podcast live up...Read full review »

Anton Paisov via Apple Podcasts · Ukraine · 05/15/16
A very approachable podcast, they make sure to explain things well without shying away from interesting issues. My favourite part is the banter and friendly jokes and conversation that keep it interesting! Also, having guests on the show regularly helps to mix things up.

Even though this podcast is not 100% focused on Ruby on Rails, the majority of the content is centered around Rails development. The hosts are all very experienced Rails developers (one is a member of the Rails core team) and it’s great to hear them talk about the hidden corners of the platform...Read full review »

This is basically THE BEST podcast out there for advanced software engineers. It is mainly about ruby / rails but they touch on various topics. I highly recommend this!

I love listening to coding podcasts because I get exposed to things that I haven’t before heard about. The Bike Shed is a really great place for these kinds of things, because Sean and Derek go really deep into things of which I have a moderate level of understanding. Excellent hosts expressing software ideas clearly. From library maintainer-ship, to trying out rust-lang, all the way to contributing to rails. Includes some of my favourites in the ruby community as they get to express their interests along side out hosts. Great job Sean and Derek.

Sean and Derek strike an impressive balance of giving context for their very technical discussions and jumping right into the hairy details of the topic du jour. Lots of awesome guests, too!

The Bikeshed guys are fantastic to listen to each week. They're both enjoyable and knowledgable, a perfect balance. Great for a more technical podcast. Recommended.

This podcast goes more into programming details than most podcast that I’ve listened to. Great hosts and great topics. Very Ruby centric, similar to Ruby Rogues in a way but more down in the nitty-gritty!

Disclaimer, Sean and Derek are former coworkers so my bias is definitely showing. I’ve really been enjoying the podcast. Great to hear all the nitty gritty details of what you guys have been working with.
