Have always enjoyed his style. Listened to him for years on Toronto. Even better on the Current. Like the way CBC breaks down segments to download. 👍

I really like this podcast, the host is easy to listen to but has lively character. I also really like that they broke down the show into segments so you don’t have to stream the entire show if you’re only interested in one topic that day.

Well. That was the one of the most terrible interviews I’ve ever heard on the Current. It sounded as if Toobin was saying I he question back and looking on an answer list to add a pause and another sentence. I listen to CNN podcasts. And the concept of the book is one that I could read. But...Read full review »

Thanks so much for bringing back the shorter segments. Matt is doing an exceptional job. 2020 has been a tumultuous year to report on. AnnaMarie got me hooked on The Current!

Love the short podcasts, but so annoying when a speaker finishes a sentence and another voice immediately begins an ad. Tell us you'll be right back, taking a break, or whatever other cue a listener needs.Read full review »

While this program does have good content and coverage of certain issues, listeners need to be aware of their well-documented efforts to silence racialized voices when they have something to say that's uncomfortable for the showrunners.Read full review »

Edit: thank you to listening to our feedback and cutting up the current into smalller podcasts! Original comment: Used to listen to 90 percent of the segments when it was divided into topics. This format makes me tired. I agree with some of the other listeners, I tend to erase most of the episodes as well. Why did things change? When can we have the old format back?

I echo previous responses I like shorter podcasts in one topic Please consider a return to previous format

I like the way it was before with each podcast being about one topic. Then I can choose which episodes to watch. Now I tend to delete them all because there is always something I don’t want to listen to and don’t want the hassle of having to fast forward through those bits. Keep each one short...Read full review »

I’ve listened to the Current’s podcast for years because of its high quality combined with the ability to pick and choose between topics. I haven’t listened to more than one episode in the unsegmented format; bring back the old segmented format and I’ll be back to listen. Until then I’m going to...Read full review »

I really enjoy the podcast, enjoy the penetrating discussions and dialogue, have always enjoyed the guests...but I really do NOT like the new format. The lengthy, non-segmented format is tedious and comes across as lazy. Please bring back the segmented podcasts. They are easier to navigate, much...Read full review »

This is a fault with most CBC coverage- but this presenter always defaults to the lowest common denominator in journalism of probing guests for their pain with seemingly insincere sympathy. More news, more real info, more insights please. This is hard to listen to.

I am more apt to listen to a particular topic on the current know that subjects are divided into many podcasts. It’s easier to sort through and delete topics of no interest. Thank you for the format and overall excellent journalism

I would love to continue to support CBC but the new format of multiple topics per podcast episode means that I don’t get around to listening to them. I loved the Current but I find I rarely listen to it anymore that it’s all released as one giant episode. I enjoy picking which 20-30 minute segments that appeal to me, it’s too much work to fast forward through the interviews I’m not interested in, and I don’t have time for over an hour episodes.

Hate the new way podcasts are released, the titles of the segments are too long they get distracting and frustrating to get a sense of what is being covered. I end up deleting them without even listening. Releasing segments as individual podcasts seemed much more useful and relevant. I would much...Read full review »

I used to love this podcast but now it is all hour long coverage of COVID19. I understand this is a big issue but can we please balance this out with other interesting things happening in the world? Can we go back to the nice 20min segments on a variety of topics?

This show used to publish 3 separate daily podcasts. Now it’s split up into Part 1 and Part 2 with multiple topics in each. It’s much harder to enjoy. Please split them up again.

Well done CBC and Matt. I’ve found journalists today and on other CBC shows, leaning away from being impartial and reporting the news, to trying to impose their beliefs and opinions on those they interview. To the point of a supposed race to see who can be the most dramatic. Matt does his...Read full review »

CBC should at least try to hide their personal bias on radio and on the web. You may have guests with opposing views but still the host can’t stay neutral. Web reporting is bad too.
