Reviews
The topics chosen for this podcast are very good, and being a person who treasures the New York Times I’m expecting a top quality show. However, the infotainment style of this program often infuriates me. I can not stand Michael Barbaro’s willful naive questioning of guests, his pausing to allow...

I too lean left and disapprove of Trump but this is an embarrassment to journalism! The english interpretation of what is said IS WRONG! The interpreter is adding their own personal comments to the narrative to influence the story.

I am a leftie who hates Trump but even I find the Daily to be wildly biased at times and almost a college freshman podcast based on emotional attachment to whomever he happens to be interviewing. The recent podcast on the undocumented person working for Trump just downright took quotes out of...

Thank you for providing a neutral news source through strong research and journalism. They do a terrific job providing back stories that the younger generation (me!) isn’t familiar with. Particularly, the episodes about Anita Hill during the Kavanaugh trial gave me context and deeper...

Consistently wonderful -- inspires me to wake up in the morning. Reporting is balanced and always thought-provoking. Thank you, truly grateful.

NYT is always a good podcast/news outlet to listen to/read, but as of the past couple years they have become extremely left leaning. I don’t have a problem with that in particular, but what bothers me if they’re not open about their extreme bias. If your news outlet is going to have a bias,...

I really love this podcast, but the past week it has been less about the “daily” events in the news and more ongoing topics that I have other podcasts for. I really miss listening about the week’s news. Michael Flynn? John Kelly? Mueller? Big things are happening and I miss your take!

This is biased content that claims facts without reliable evidence. Only listen if you want to sustain and promote a divided country. Don’t be a sheep told what to think without any logic or facts.

When will the Times return to neutral reporting paper?
Cricket 6 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/14/18
This was an excellent podcast when it started last year but the episodes have gradually been getting more and more biased since about January of this year. It's now to the point where about once a week there's an episode that's as biased as the most opinionated show on MSNBC.

Some of the very best produced propaganda I have heard. If you enjoy being told what to think, this is for you.

Not that objective-minded people would end up here anyway, but steer clear of this podcast if you’re looking for actual research or opinions grounded in reality. This is mindless drivel rooted in idealism, geared to those constantly looking for somebody else to change...rather than, you know,...

I love the concept of this podcast, and listen almost every day. BUT, I’d love a more neutral perspective. I know this is NYT, so it’s always going to be left of center. I still enjoy the topics.

I look forward to listening to this podcast on the way to work every morning. Always insightful and helps me keep up to date on what’s going on in the world/US.

This is a great daily podcast that breaks down current news stories. Very informative, well produced, and interesting topics. Most of the show focuses on one topic and the end is a wrap up of current headlines. Highly recommend to any news junkie.

The Daily > Every other podcast. I listen to every episode, every day. Excellent production value. Interesting stories. Very well done.

While many of the stories are important and well researched they a not what is implied by the name - what is going on today. Also, the breathless tone of the host gets old after awhile. If you are looking for a real daily news podcast try BBC GLOBAL NEWS PODCAST or NPR UP FIRST.

Michael, good communicator. Well prepared, relevant guests. It seems fairly unbiased for a while. Remember reporting is not about taking sides, it’s presenting all angles and facts, well it should be. If the concept is too one sided you’ll only get listeners who agree with you - have a dual host...

Adding music to this news podcast is annoying and distracting and treats the listener like an idiot who needs mood music to get the point of the journalist.

I am an American living in London and born in France and I listen to every single one of this podcast with great interest! It’s always interesting, it is explained extremely clearly and is the perfect supplement to reading the New York Times online! Bravo!!

Brought to you by Shell, Johnson&Johnson, and others... what exactly is the role of major oil and pharma companies in the broadcast of NYT’s pod? And if their role is insignificant (yeah right) then why is NYT lending these companies credence by letting them advertise on their platform?

Too often, it's a waste of time because of all the sound bites (most of which I have heard and don't want to hear again) and music. Way too much clutter. What wrong with interesting analysis? What a waste of talent at the NYT to have this show of mostly sound bites, music and wistful (seldom...

I’ve been listening for a while now... every now and then, there’s a very touching/sad/hard to hear piece. I’ve been moved by the stories and the way they’re delivered. The dedication to the truth is what sets this podcast apart from others. No matter how hard the news is to deliver, this podcast...

It should be longer than 20 minutes. But why all the ads from the banks and companies like Exxon? Have a little dignity while the show talks about climate change.

This was an amazing podcast when it started last year and I used to look forward to listening to this every morning. However, for about the last six months this podcast has had an extremely strong liberal bias in it and vast majority of the episodes have been focused on politics.

Superb. Factual analysis with succinct explanation of the historical background, which I really appreciate – too many news media only reports what happened; The Daily is one of the very few high quality news podcasts that cares to explain the Why, and in an engaging way. And I love the way they...

I love this program. However, I definitely do NOT need feel-good ads from Exxon Mobil telling me how great they are for the preservation of the environment. Find new sponsors that fit the target, not evil companies destroying the planet who are exactly doing the opposite of what the program's...

I started listening many many months ago and I was excited by the unique and in-depth stories. It has become the same old biased nonsense lately. I cannot believe you could not provide a respectful remembrance of President George H.W. Bush. I will no longer listen.

I've been listening to Michael Barbaro since The Run-up and The Daily is just as good, if not better. Barbaro is modest, thoughtful, respectful, soft-spoken, and his interviews with NYT reporters who are in the midst of writing big stories are truly fabulous. The show has subtle but effective...

Every time I think to myself “okay time for my daily news dose” I cue up an episode of The Daily because I have trust in NYT reporting. However, within seconds I’m cringing because of the bizarre manner of the host. Barbaro, while probably a lovely person speaks unnaturally slow in the intro....
