Sometimes annoying but always honest
If you can deal with some of Dave's personality quirks, his advice is concise, honest, and man does it really work if you STICK TO IT. My husband and I can do without his self-righteous attitudes and sometimes even judgemental diatribes (for instance, with a recent female caller whose husband had cheated on her and they were in the process of divorce, Dave says 'gross' and tells her to 'negotiate' his part of the home equity away based on the fact that 'he doesn't like what the guy did'. there are ALWAYS two sides to EVERY story and the one telling the story usually makes their's sound great.) but he's human just like we are. Anyway, this is the ONLY financial podcast I listen to b/c it seems that the others recommend some VERY risky investment strategies and for the every day consumer, these are just outrageous things to recommend. Dave doesn't do that. He speaks directly to families and working people, not day traders or corporate CEO's. Sound, thoughtful, sometimes brutal advice but I highly recommend this podcast. I took one star away for needless comment on caller's personal lives that he only knows one side of.Read full review »
