Season one was so so so good, I really enjoyed the heart they put into each of the episodes, the details and making sure we are receiving as much information as possible to get it solved for the family and Darlene. If I could give season one 5 stars I would. However, season two I felt that the...Read full review »

Season 2 was tough to get through. Because these short, rather superficial episodes were dropped two per week, I quickly lost track of the threads and found each new installment confusing and got distracted by other things. The Haradine family deserves more focus and care than this.

Season 1 was amazingly done with great investigative journalism. Ashley and Emily looked into the case, interviewed people, and did their own research to identify and interview potential witnesses, suspects, etc. Season 2 was a long, drawn out and wasteful way to exploit the story for ad reads....Read full review »

I was super excited when I seen there was going to be a season 2 for the Deck Investigates because I loved season one, but this was such a disappointment. I concur with the other reviews that the episodes were too short and there were too many ads, but what I disliked most was how there wasn’t...Read full review »

Season 1 was soooo good, but Season 2 feels very slow and drawn out. It’s been really hard to listen to. I feel like Season 2 could have been a single episode. And, there are so many ads this season.
skatergirl22 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/09/24
An interesting series and I applaud investigating cold cases, but it seems the episodes are so short in order to make each season seem more substantive than it actually is and to fit in more ads.
DesertbieneMaja via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/08/24
season 1- amazing. I had to edit my review for season 2. Ads, ads, that’s fine. I understand. Why wait a week for an episode that is nothing but fluff? Don’t exploit this case for money. We all love the deck and CJ. This just feels like a far grab.

The Deck Investigates is a well told story and I love Ashley Flowers. Her inflection her tone drags you in and you want to know how this story ends. I have to admit I am a crime Junky and listen to her and Brit. They have great chemistry so I would recommend listening to that as well.

Episode 11 The Neighbor and other episodes are done just for the ads to make money, right. Because who are you helping most of the people are dead. We all know this is maybe a one episode story, you should be embarrassed a woman died and you are NOT helping

Maybe 5 minutes of the story, 10 mins of ads per episode. Can’t even finish it, I’m so annoyed.
Dnmrsatx via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/31/24
Please, Please, Please combined the episodes, Ashley. Your storytelling is lovely; however, the 8 minutes of actual information in 1 “drop” feels like the board-book version of an actual story (parents will understand my reference). You can do better for your CJ, babes, I know you can.

This is a joke a season. All this adds this short episode what a joke
flow698 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/30/24
This season has an interesting story line that deserves to be told. However, giving a 2 15-minute episodes (after ads) a week is just a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and wait until they all drop to listen to them.
Not Normal Audiochuck via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/27/24
Love CJs content but 16min episodes?! Why bother? Ideal episode length is like 45-60mins (I like even longer). This is only like 8 episodes worth of content, just make it 8 episodes.
MissMouse04 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/26/24
I love this show. I’m definitely losing interest and patience though with how slim these last few episodes have been… nothing is happening and we have to wait a week to hear such a tiny detail. Sadness because I usually LOVE everything crime junky.

Great story, but 16 min episodes feel pointless.

I listen to Crime Junkie every week and really enjoy that podcast, so I thought this show would be produced in a similar fashion. I didn’t finish this season because 1) 15 episodes are a lot especially with all the ad content, and 2) there is nothing new here and the reporting was done as if they...Read full review »

Interesting case but 2-3 add breaks in a 15min show is pathetic.

Again.. you’re not investigating anything. You’re regurgitating work done by professionals, and claiming it as your own. Your ‘team’ didn’t uncover anything that wasn’t public record. Stop claiming their work as your own, and stop spitting out rumors and gossip and calling it an...Read full review »

Why not make them into 30 minute episodes? Is it just about advertising revenue and not the listener experience now?

I’m a top tier CJ fan club member, love all audiochuck productions, but the ads on this one take the bulk of each episode. This is not a season worth of content

Ashley flowers shows are all of a very high standard, in all aspects of presentation, production and research. And this one fits that description perfectly. I now automatically listen and subscribe to channels when I see Ms Flowers name.

No need for this case to be a season. A 16-minute episode with ads? Criminal in itself…

I enjoyed the presentation style of the content on this podcast. The host comes across as very intelligent and approaches the victim stories with an investigative lens. The gory details are shared but subdued, making me as a listener less uncomfortable hearing about awful crimes. The pace of the...Read full review »

Basically, you wait a week for another 15 minutes of the story. If there’s not much content, why not make it a 6-episode show, instead of 15-episodes?

Lots of speculation, hyperbole, hype, LEO bashing, and all without any payoff. Skip this one.

I like this podcast a lot. However, this is an unsolved case. I wish I would have known that prior to listening. Prefer podcasts with the crime already solved.

I just can’t tolerate her style that comes off as superior or smug. I’m sorry! Also stolen idea from another podcast. Get some originality.

Dragged on and hyper dramatized leading us to believe that we are on the cusp of new discovery - Then nothing. Predatory and unfair to prosecutor. It’s like those Indra videos that tell you to wait for it - then nothing .

After Season 1, I was anxiously awaiting Season 2. After listening to all 4 episodes , I was disappointed. It didn’t even come close to Season 1. The heart of the story was not there. Sorry. I normally love listening to everything Audiochuck.

Ashley offers strength in revealing critical details of each case as well as a confident, strong voice when delivering the story. It is clear that she takes pride in accurate retelling and respect for those involved.

I will listen to anything Ashley Flowers puts out. I like that her shows are focused more on the victims and not the killer. Episodes are always well researched and told.

I’ve truly enjoyed listening to this story. The information was a lot to listen to and it would make me wonder myself, who is the one that’s responsible. I almost want to start all over and listen to it again. This case needs to be solved and I hope it does sooner than later.

I am a fan of Crime Junkie and the work they do. However, this particular case was very drawn out for no reasons episodes are very short with half of the time being ads. I’ve been a crime junkie since I was about 15 years old, I am now 21. Stupidest, inconclusive waste of time. Does anything come of this? No. If this is about spreading awareness, great. You are the 2020’s “Unsolved Mysteries” super woke hostess. But nothing has come of this and I wasted a lot of time waiting for resolution that never came.
