The podcast lacks focus, it comes at the story from so many angles the angles overcome the story. By episode 2 I didn’t know what it was about

This is a bit strange. Thought I was going to hear about how a guy was crushed or killed on a farm but heard about the Crewe murder? Not sure what is happening here?

Seriously is an absolute joke, it’s a plodcast and a total embarrassment to all involved. Extremely hard to listen too. Host is full of sarcasm…. Terrible!!!!

Takes on a docu-drama feel as the listener realises there is no intent to make any genuine attempt to answer the questions and inconsistencies it poses.

Really professionally and clearly structured account of two deaths and the reverberations throughout their families and a small community.

Hooked in the first 5 minutes of episode 1.

This podcast can’t really decide what it’s doing. Is it investigating the Crewe murders and links to police cover ups or is it dancing around a present day work place accident and trying to make tenuous links back to the past? They fail to do both really...

I really wanted to like this and the story sounds as if it is very interesting but it is just too over produced. The whole thing feels like a preview/trailer. Sound effects, constant voices over other voices fading in and out. It was annoying so I stopped after 2 unfortunately.

Really enjoyed. Definitely differed from the usual investigation style from Stuff, but was great to have a new style of telling a crime story. What really impressed me was the self awareness & sensitivity, which Eugene & the team applied in the telling of this story. They could have...Read full review »

In Episode five of the podcasts, I was listening intently about the Makan point 22 rifle, that belonged to the Demler family, and how Mr Demler wanted it out of the district, rater than it be test fired like all the other rifles handed in. I was gobsmacked to hear Lynette Stevens gossiping about...Read full review »

Strangest podcast I have listened too, served no real purpose. Was just a bunch Jibba Jabba

Well nice podcast but frankly I got bored 4 episodes in. Nothing much new and nothing definitive, seems like it was a bunch of folks views with little substance. Eugene seemed to start to mock his participants such as Lynette after awhile

Fantastic podcast very NZ which I love, beautifully crafted so you get a sense of the characters (actually people), that are pushing for justice. Interviews are very well explained. Well done. Thank you.

I got to the end and wondered what this podcast was trying to achieve. A poorly researched look at one of New Zealand’s most well-known murders? It’s just a lot of chatting with damaged people. How did his podcast help them or progress our understanding of the case?

Seems everything is about clearing Thomas , and yet somuch evidence pointing to him , even a sighting by Lobb At least show a balanced podcast and give Jeanette justice Just another man making money out of there misfortune

Great reporting and an interesting story to be sure. I binged this whole podcast in one day and was SO sad when I got to the end. Keep up the good work and hoping for more seasons!!!

Well done to Eugene and team for putting together new and thoughtful information around this long held mystery of a case. Wow Lynette can talk (does her husband ever get a word in LOL) and I think Eugene did an outstanding job of following her woven and complex stories.

Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast dealing not just with cold case investigators and conspiracy theories, but also the impact on those living in the vacuum.
