What was it like to live in the Soviet Union?
Kristaps draws on stories from his parents' generation to reveal what it was like to live in the Soviet Union. As a Latvian, he's got plenty of material to work with. And as a journalist, he's got the chops to do it right. But he also has a sense of humor about it. Much of this show dwells on the absurdites of Soviet malfunctionality. Given that Latvia had Soviet rule imposed on it, I'm sure there may be some cultural bias, but there's probably also candid truth that you wouldn't get elsewhere.
