“So, I was new to this podcast but my husband and I were both so excited to listen it! WIth a combined 22 years in the restaurant industry in all FOH in all positions from hostess to GM in casual dining restaurants up through a 5 Diamond restaurant (my favorite 5 years...), we thought we had finally found a podcast that was by "our people". We started with the interview with David Kinch (Episode 13) because.... David Kinch! We literally could not get through the first 10 minutes. It was painfully obvious that neither host has spent ANY time working in a real restaurant, especially not from a management position. The questions and observations seemed to be those of overpaid food reviewers with impressive writing degrees from prestigious colleges but no actual industry experience. (There are multiple reasons that the bartender would not take an order by someone NOT actually sitting at the bar. No, there are places in the bar where you can sit but are not areas to order food. Anyone who had spent a month at an Outback Steakhouse would understand these basics.) We were so annoyed as the conversation dripped with snarky entitlement and completely disappointed in this podcast. We unsubscribed and hope to find something else that is truly from an industry perspective because this is not.”Read full review »
