Latest episode on China was like listening to a CCP bulletin, everything taken at face value. The Economist needs to recoup the qualities it once stood out for; critical analysis, lack of bias and highly informative. It’s slipping on all three of these, and I’ll be unsubscribing from both this...Read full review »

Great way to give the newspaper information a different dimension. Nice to hear the writers making the newspaper more personal and make the information sink in for good. This helps me in my daily business decisions. Thank you

Finally gave up and unsubscribed - love the podcast but being forced to listen to not one, not two but three adds from Philip Morris each time drove me to distraction I’ll read the magazine but podcast listening is no more Too bad, I used to enjoy it

Could you please you incorporate a segment by that is 101 explainer on concepts such as why and when bond rates drop, pros and cons of inflation, relevance of gold standard ......for the novices and Econ wannabes.

The quality of this free podcast is somehow at the same time a reason for and a reason against taking out a subscription with The Economist as you already get so much excellent journalism for free. Anyway, I still got a subscription and can attest to it being worth it.
JonathanDonathan via Apple Podcasts · Germany · 12/30/20
Brilliant, excellent! No problem wit you advertising for The Economist. But now adds for RyanAir and Babbel, repeatedly in one podcast, and what else to come😡. In my terms, you are now on probation.

Maybe there are only liberal young people willing to work for traditional news sources. They think of it as a crusade so they are willing to work for low wages. It feels like the objectivity is slowly departing. Still better than The NY Times, but still slanting liberal. I guess that’s the new...Read full review »

This pod has great content but the host pronounces his “R”’s in a really weird way so I can’t tell what he’s saying sometimes. A more intelligible host would make it a 5-star pod.

I look forward to this podcast every week. I love its different takes on stories; ones that aren’t necessarily always widely reported on or analysed in as much depth.

Also giving good facts mixed with opinion. Usually the best in field guests, this podcast takes a more global view than local to any particular area. Journalism at a very high standard.

Demographics is the fundamental macroeconomic driver behind housing boom. That it wasn’t covered and the meandering side track into various microeconomic digressions was disappointing. Josh Brown of CNBC fame recently interviewed another housing economist who nailed the demographic geographic...Read full review »

The podcast is succinct and covers a delightfully diverse array of topics. Although there is a stronger left-wing bias than I remember used to be the case in the magazine, with endless the host endlessly talking about supposed biases and discrimination

Even if you don’t have economic training, you can still obtain a pretty good understanding of what’s relevant in the world of economics.

Tried listening to this podcast for the quality of information we all expect from the Economist. Unfortunately I could not get through the episode due to the verbal tic “sort of” polluting every sentence, sometimes more than once. That useless phrase adds no value, undemines the speaker’s point,...Read full review »

My family is from Guyana and I’d love to see more countries like this featured. Jamaica, Grenada and Bermuda aren’t just vacation spots, their countries with imports, exports and industries. I’d like to know more about what’s happening there economically and socially.
