arrogant propaganda for the rich and powerful
the economist serves the same purposes today as it did when it justified slavery, colonialism, and war in the 1800s - to give an intelligent and benevolent *expert opinion* appearance to the propaganda of mass murderers. no change, perhaps even more arrogant and detached from the reality of most people today

I found the 2007 previews to be lucid and succinct, providing a clear analysis and opinion. Though I found the presentations somewhat stiff and stilted, I feel that erudite opinions sound better that way, and seem more authentic than they would with a slicker, Madison Avenue-type patter.
