I want to like the Economist more, because it has some good programming with interesting stories, but the political reporting is always slanted. Why? Anything conservative or right leaning seems to be bashed by the Economist’s reporters. It really is off putting and why I am giving the program...Read full review »

The Economist is getting my scathing 1* review because it’s actually just a sub par predictive news agency. The fact they spent a half year yapping about a close thing that was a Trump blowout showed me that they are just like all the other entertainment news agencies out there and are, in the...Read full review »

Inflation, energy policy blunders, electric car market crashing, looming recession, 2 wars, all on the Biden-Harris Administration and yet Trump is the greater threat? Shame on your lack of perspective. Your bias has clouded your vision. Inflation, poor energy policy, and wars can all get...Read full review »

When the low ratings are from different sides of the spectrum you know you found something worse listening to. Idk if I always agree, but the coverage is balanced, useful and thought provoking

Prideaux! Actual empathy is not “scripted.” The room y’all are giving trump to be trump vs the standard other candidates have and continue to be held to is ridiculous. That’s not journalism. To quote Weller, “That’s Entertainment.”

The Economist seems determined to “both sides” the 2024 POTUS race. I have no patience for “journalists” who pretend Trump is a reasonable candidate. Romney would be a normal candidate. Trump is a convicted criminal. I can’t take this news org seriously anymore.

Subscribed, love a lot of the content, but the volume of ads is just insane, especially for a paying subscriber

The Economist lost Zeitgeist. Promoting a cancer conference with tobacco sponsors? Really? This hurts credibility so bad, worse yet in this era of post truth. I need to rely on the people whose news I am reading. So I decided to leave this podcast behind. It really feels sometimes out of touch,...Read full review »

Very poor form for a British “journalist” to be making all sorts of demeaning comments about the US Electoral College system. It works as designed to spread electoral power more evenly across the broad expanse of the country.

Just finished listening to the absolute nonsense reporting about the Trump v Harris debate. This shameful bunch of reporters rabbled on for a whole sitting about a minor anecdote on Trumps part and failed to discuss neither the points of the debate, nor Harris' fake claims (no fact-check...Read full review »

I hear misogyny and racism. There is also ignorance and misinformation regarding medical conditions such as both type 1 and type 2 diabetes — potentially dangerous misinformation.

A great way to keep up with the top global stories in a concise and informative way. I especially appreciate that I can listen in 3 times a day and not get bombarded with constant notifications

All of the episodes of The Weekend Intelligence are pointless opportunities for the reporters to subsidize a vacation. Most of their shows lack a point-of-view or a purpose, their reporting is short on rigor, and they never question the assertions made by the people they interview.

As always, the Economist offers up outstanding insights on current events. As a paid subscriber, I would have hoped that they would throttle back the volume of ads just a little bit.

DO NOT put Americans on this podcast. I only listen for the ~attractive~ British accents. Substantively could be better, but accents are chefs 💋.

I was disappointed to hear the podcast encourage/celebrate animal testing on the June 18, 2024. Not very progressive. I usually enjoy listening and subscribe, but am reconsidering.

The series produced by The Economist are fabulous as is the ongoing series Drum Tower. Quality storytelling.

A few weeks ago, there was an episode where they discussed why Americans perceived the economy as being so bad when "really" it was actually doing well. For every one podcast they make that’s illuminating and worth listening to, they make ten that are so shamelessly angled to their own interests that it’s no longer worth listening. Drum Tower is especially egregious.

The show is ok but think I will have some time out. Some commentators can be pretty one-sided and sound gleeful when discussing issues in the UK.

When you start your report on the university students in Chicago protest against war in Gaza by saying Pro-Palestinian protestors (rather that anti war protesters) and you spray a few anti-semitism words in the middle of your report, then of course you are biased in your reporting...

The Economist podcast paywall concept seems to be in disarray. The podcast is increasingly blighted with relentless appeals to join up with ever increasing discounts as the months roll by—when will this charade end?

I am a long time listener to all the Economist’s podcasts and I have always appreciated their non-partisan approach to news that is impossible to get in the US. The economist is very clever in how it riddles its propaganda to present a “balanced take”. The trick is what they leave out in their analysis and what they make light of. It took me time to see it. I do not recommend unless you want to be fed propaganda
