I used to listen to the spoiler specials but they’ve disappeared now it’s just not the same

Love this podcast so much, Helen, Chris and James you are all making this isolation thing that bit more bearable. Even if there’s no movie news please keep going with the pod, your random chats are the best thing about it anyway!

Have listened to the podcast since the start. Has come on leaps and bounds in the subsequent 400 episodes. So why fix something that isn’t broke by putting Spoilers behind a paywall? Such a shame and 2 stars knocked off because of it.

I really enjoyed watching the movies in cinema then listening, for more in sight from the fun crew but, sounds like that is OVER 😭 please bring back the spoiler podcast episodes. I really miss laughing and being surprised by the crew. What a shame you are more greedy then making people enjoy...Read full review »

Enjoyable podcast. Such a shame that the Spoiler Specials have gone behind the paywall. For 2 podcasts a month you are expected to pay more than Disney+ will cost. I suppose they are “taking back control” (satire).
Nashy Bach via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/07/20
Hugely funny and enjoyable podcast - love these wonderful people. People complaining about the spoiler special paywall simply don’t understand the economics of journalism and print right now - they need to find financial alternatives to selling pure print, and a lot of work goes into these...Read full review »

Aside from the excessive unnecessary swearing (not funny or clever), and football references, this podcast is enjoyable enough - Not a show I would be prepared to pay for, however for free it’s ok.

I love this podcast. I have been listening since Episode 1, but why have the spoiler cast episodes suddenly disappeared?

I have been listening to this podcast religiously and enjoy the hosts, their dynamic, and their well presented points of view. Interviews never fail to reveal something deeper about the films and their creators. Yet one of the highlights of this podcast has always been the goldmine that is the...Read full review »

I was and avid listner from episode 1 but the latest 2 hr shambles was the last straw! 200 mins of self indulgent crap with the occasional movie review / newz stop trying to be funny, leave the carry-on humour at home and just concentrate on what you do best?
The real big bird via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/04/20
It’s an ok podcast, it’s a shame about some of the guest hosts who either think they know something but just like the sound of their own voices and who love to brag. It’s not bad but has gone a bit down hill over the years.

I'm a long-time French listener of this podcast, and I have to say this is by far the most entertaining, interesting one around. The sound quality, the personalities, the palpable passion for movies and the humour, all of these make for great episodes. I especially love the spoiler specials...Read full review »

Not sure about sticking the spoiler specials behind a paywall... I’d rather you stuck 20 minutes on books and musical theatre behind a paywall instead....

This podcast has become a few people sitting around and swearing. Although they are meant to be film critics, they are are no better than the people who swear a lot and post inane reviews on YouTube. They did not seem to know much about Film. They often refer to children’s cartoons and comics....Read full review »

An excellent podcast, with funny and well informed (though they try to pretend to not be) hosts and with regular high profile guests. Well worth a listen.

I love this podcast. Chris Hewitt does a great job of producing content you don't get from other podcasts. My only complaint is that there aren't enough political comments. The anti-politics reviews are hilarious and I want more. What next? Criticising the Empire team for siding with the...Read full review »

Unsubscribed. Too much Hewitt, too much politicking/Brexit & Trump jabbing and too long. It’s only the 11th of January and they’re already moaning about how terrible the world is and how’s it going to end soon (which then feeds back to Brexit and Trump). Another loss to social media ‘wokeness’.
Jimbo6699 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/11/20
Informative podcast presented by engaging people. Soured only by the hosts inability to keep their political opinions to themselves. It has little place in a podcast about film. Whilst hearing guests swear promotes an unfiltered conversation, I’m happy not to hear presenters swearing through a...Read full review »

Don't let the (very funny) silly bits fool you: These people know their stuff when it comes to movies (which is why they write for the best movie magazine in the world, duh). Really love the fact that two NI presenters are on this. Love to see you guys doing well. The humour is right up my street and so relatable. Only thing would be the politics. Please guys just lay off the politics. Don’t need it on a movie podcast.
Ginjaninja!! via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/17/19
Love the podcast but please lay off the politics. It’s bad enough that we have to have it shoved down our throats from every other angle, we certainly don’t also need it from a movie podcast. It’s not why we tune in. Furthermore, your sophisticated dissection of the election result: “this is...Read full review »

Been listening for 6-7 years, used to be a 5 star but dropped off quite a bit. Politics is brought into everything, extremely London-centric and preachy (and I’m a lefty). Used to be a must listen for me but it has become near impossible to get through these days. The host has become a caricature of himself. He’s like a Northern Irish Tim Lovejoy with worse jokes.
