Smug and self-indulgent
Wanted to like this but just can't get past the pervasive smugness that seems to emanate from nearly all involved. The hosts seem to feel a constant need to reference their geek credentials or 'quirky' speciality interests and as a result you get a strange sense of insincerity even when they are talking about topics about which they appear knowledgable. It might be inevitable that when you put a bunch of young, well-paid jourmalists from a 'cool' magazine together you end up with something self-indulgent but it does seem, with the guests they interview, that an opportunity for a very good podcast has been missed. To end on a slightly positive note their 'spoiler' episodes are a good idea and in better hands could make a great podcast.Read full review »

Really enjoy the podcast on the way to and from work but seems much quieter than most podcasts/music on my 4s - I can't hear it properly walking on the road at max volume but everything else is fine - keep it up, but put up the volume!Read full review »
