Great series. Worth a listen
Izzy Mike via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/04/22
This series is well worth a listen. Justin (and team) do such a great job of bringing together the most salient bits of information and presenting it in a consumable manner. Makes me a little scared for the future, but glad that these folks are digging in the mud for us. We owe you all a lot.

Excellent investigative journalism. Deep and rich in layers. Love the Canadian content in episode 1. Well put together. Good work.

Will there be more? It’s just excellent and it seems that there is so much more to explore. Thanks for it!

This is Canadian communist-driven sensationalism at its finest; pure propaganda!!! This is absolute one-sided, biased garbage.

This is a great historical account of the influence of broadcast terrorism. The only failure in this account is the lack of motives. What drove and motivated these bad actors to do what they did? I feel this should be explored to tell the full story. Who fed the narratives and who benefits from...Read full review »

I was a bit disappointed in this podcast, I do feel they do a fairly good job of tracking the growth of scepticism and hate on conservative radio. So many figures in this movment are absolutely ridiculous but I feel they fell short in actually explaining the growth of this movement into a...Read full review »

Absolutely fascinating look into the history of incendiary players in recent history.

Yet another podcast that has interesting and well-researched material but lacks the confidence in itself to present that material without incessant background music and gratuitous sound effects.

Such a good history of the rise of Trump and the profiting from anger.
mattrhames via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/02/22
I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and had very conservative grandparents who influenced the family. Carl McIntire, Billy J. Hargis, The Beacon, the National Council of Churches was talked about all the time and brought great fear to me as a kid growing up wondering if I’d live to be an adult because...Read full review »

Excellent work by Justin Ling. An interesting and entertaining tour through some of the roots of American conservative extremism. The series highlights the right's long-standing reliance on absurd conspiracy theories to foster a politics of anger and fear. All in all, it's informative and...Read full review »

standard knee jerk liberal spin that just smears successful radio hosts. a medium liberals have always failed at and been resentful over

History, perspective, logic, raw, educational, almost shocking except… many of us see the issue already however, I was unaware of the back story and now I am gobsmacked. I’m on episode 4 and blown away. Thank you so much for diving into this clearly decades long phenomena ❤️

The early episodes are interesting but the Hillary Clinton fawning in later episodes gets a bit much.
Vapiddeek via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 11/29/21
I love this show. It’s informative, historical, fascinating. But the episodes don’t come out on time. And now it’s been 2 weeks since the last one with one more episode to go and it’s supposed to be weekly. Bummer!!!

Justin Ling is really fabulous. The topics are always great, the journalism is great, and his delivery is unbeatable. I do tend to agree with people asking why the CBC is so obsessed with USA subjects but that aside it's real good.Read full review »

Great podcast. Glad the CBC is there to produce quality programming. Forget what mudguts is saying. The hope is that the Americans listen to it and learn

This is a fantastic piece of work. I love how well laid out it is. The flow from beginning to end. Must have taken a lot of research. I honestly think this was absolutely fantastic, honest, and very, very informative. There’s no boring part to this. Thank’s so much.

Fascinating podcast but having 2363.org (anti-abortion/anti-choice nonsense) as a sponsor is disappointing

Why is a Canadian taxpayer funded company paying for a podcast about American politics? Other than that, it’s a great show.

Quickly paced and informative.

I listened to this and was blown away. This podcast takes the listener to the origins of the madness that the Trump boot lickers didn’t want yo know. Even with this truth being placed right in front of them; these boot lickers will close their eyes and cover their ears.

A fascinating look at how conservatism in the US became weaponised and its followers became radicals. Well written, researched, and presented.

Throroughly researched podcast about the rise of right wing radio in the US. This is sure to upset some people but this is a well done podcast that presents its side well.

Justin Ling knocks it out of the park again! Absolutely love this series. Taking it all in slowly. The commute home from work isn’t too bad after all.

A well researched, important and well told story from an interesting perspective
cloois via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/26/21
This show is very well researched and beautifully presented. Hilarious that all the trump-licks crawl about seeing what they can knee-jerk ‘rate’ and ‘review’, but without the ability to string together a sensible sentence supporting the drooling assaults. Seems like the whiter of folks often...Read full review »

After listening to the first 2 episodes I’m impressed with the research done for this podcast, this style of radio started way before Rush Limbaugh, and it goes through the steps that lead up to where we are today in our politics and the state of our comradery of our citizens, independent...Read full review »

I’ve being looking for a good definition of Conservative talk for years but found it in Episode 1, 20:12. “There’s no particular ideological quest at play. Conservative talk is just cheap. Fulfills everything you’d expect. Total left leaning, and insulting to the middle or right with humour that falls flat unless you like to make fun of people who don’t agree with you. As Canadians we can do better. I feel bad for any centrists or conservatives out there knowing that their tax...Read full review »
