So difficult to keep listening while the irritating techno sound goes pn in the background. Really distracting

I enjoy this podcast very much but miss a lot due the background music which is loud and slowly penetrates forcing me to lose concentration.

I would never subscribe to a magazine who tells lies and never tells the truth! Does China own you too? They now own most of my country thanks to the leadership of this country who sold us out! It is about to get real!

Disappointed by shallow, one-sided perspective, touting American foreign policy as a moral standard others should follow. Authors discussing technology with very little understanding of it. I hoped it would be a podcast I could regularly listen to, but it was not very informative, and felt...Read full review »

A superb look at current events. The current updating attempts to understand the shifts underway in ways that are careful and rigorous. I appreciate the effort to confront our own established reference points, and have found several insights that showed me that my point of view is from the past,...Read full review »

Why does the rest of the entire world have to become like “US” as you repeatedly have your listener hear through your interviews, in order to the “globalized” world be “right” (meaning whatever is “right” through the USA’s lenses)? Is the USA system even the best system? Because it sounds like...Read full review »

Everything learned from Trump bios? Trump has no relationships. Just people wanting to play him

My first listen was to a January piece on Andrew Jackson and Jacksonian echoes in Trump's election and performance in office with a biographer. Strangely, no mention of race other than a dismissive phrase about Jackson's conventional critics. I didn't sense the guest would be...Read full review »

Ignore the uncritical 5-star reviews, this show is not perfect. It is sometimes let down by the technical quality of the audio, but there are many superb episodes and Susan is a very good interviewer of the give-em-enough-rope school. On occasion, there are episodes where it is unintentionally...Read full review »

I am impressed by the interviewer, her guests, and the range of topics. It is refreshing to listen to thoughtful interviews where the questions are meaningful, and the guests are given time to formulate thoughtful answers. I am also impressed by Susan’s depth and breadth of knowledge.

The guest was outstanding as he objectively explained Jackson’s philosophy and how it related to Trump. I read Politico so I enjoy the work of Glasser in print. However, in podcast form the interviews seem forced. It sounds like Glasser has an agenda for the interview before it starts instead of letting the interview lead itself.

This is a crappy podcast, they mention trumps name and laugh, comment on middle America suggesting most did not go to college and laugh.
