Is so good

Usual propagandistic nothingness. And as usual, largely American focused. Probably because America has significant control and influence over the global media. Not worth the time.

Great show. Very easy listening yet very informative.

Glad Katya is back. Her colleagues who filled in are very talented journalists, but Katya stands out as a gem. Great analysis of the struggle between a sovereign country and a right wing oligarch. John from Massachusetts

Great podcast overall and would have given it 5 stars, but the lip smacking/squelching/wet sounds picked up by the mic whenever Sumi Somaskanda presents makes those episodes utterly unbearable! I always give them a go but give up about 15 seconds in because I cannot stand the noises!

Well done India Modi needed his wings clipped and his arrogance put in check

How is there an episode at the end of May 2024 that seems more concerned that some Israelis are “in hotel rooms” feeling under attack, meanwhile no coverage as they burn children to death in tents in Gaza. This is not journalism this is pushing a pro Israel narrative. Why is The BBC refusing to...Read full review »

As professional journalists, you are supposed to provide in-depth analysis, instead of bias, non reflected opinions

This is the best podcast for current events. Professionally covered, not needlessly emotional, and largely unbiased.

Pathetic. With two huge wars, one in Europe, and this rap feud is the best you can find to write about? You just lost another subscriber.

It commits the cardinal sin of bad podcasting: opinion masquerading as journalism. Under-researched and under-strength, this feels like a cheap way to pad the World Service schedule. I advise skipping it.

For example, in the episode on Lina Khan, they brought on an ex-technology reporter who...Read full review »

I’m thoroughly enjoying the Global Story. Excellent summaries of current world issues with quality involvement of experts. Please keep it going. Mike from NZ

I see you are having more presenters now. It’s much more fun. Mark and Adam sound fresh and natural!

I'm obsessed with The Global Story. It's the perfect complement to the Global News Podcast. I listen every day, and it's been a great (and far superior) substitute for the Economist's regular podcasts, which have recently been hidden behind a paywall. As a long-time BBC...Read full review »

Katya Adler (and Steve Rosenberg) are my favourite BBC journalists. I love all the work Katya does (please come back and read the news), scrupulous in her knowledge and delivery. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Why should anyone compare themselves to others? Life giving and altering behaviors aren’t chat fodder, but personal. The window of time about 15 to 50 when hormones help define you are precious and a person should find their way and cherish life but this doesn’t need to be broadcast. There isn’t...Read full review »

I enjoy this podcast greatly. I have noticed, however, some episodes can’t be played, for example the ones on February 13th and 21st. I wonder whether it is my phone that is faulty. Nevertheless, I would appreciate your checking what is wrong. Thank you.

Katya Adler is matchless in her clarity of analysis, her perfectly judged gravitas and her unwavering professionalism. Thank you.

Love Katya but a big fan of Gabriel too. Nice touch getting to hear some personal details about the guest commentators.

I like the format of the global story. BBC has outstanding journalists around the globe. Their local coverage gives us incredible stories. Every daily topic presented in depth but also in an understandable way. Thanks to the team!

Insightful content but, even with an old hand like Katya, it lacks the warmth and personal connection of a podcast. I think it’s something to do with a lack of spontaneity during taping and then the audioscape of the edit. I’m a hopeless podcast addict listen to all the big news podcasts (The...Read full review »

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. Great journalism and covers a wide range of very interesting topics. They break it down well so we can all understand what’s going on. I’ve added this to the daily list of news podcasts and look forward to it each day. Thank you from the USA!

This podcast provides a truly excellent insightful explanation of political and cultural news elements we hear about that I, and will be so bold to add, many others have no idea about or how they fit in such as the Houthis, or whatever happened to US VP Kamala Harris, who I remember being excited...Read full review »

Making a public funded broadcast a payed access is such a sad and corrosive thing to do. making nuanced perspective and information a privilege of the monied classes is contributing to the corrosive and destructive spread of misinformation. shameful that the bbc would do such a thing.

Really enjoying this - has quickly found a spot on my playlist every day. Great topics beyond the same headlines over and over again.

The choice of biased experts on critical issues is astonishing. The BBC continues to lose their reputation….if any is left at this time.

As an American looking for news outside of the US, I appreciate the reporting by the BBC. It feels like I’m getting quality reporting and helps me understand international issues better.
