Not worth it
Although Mr Solomon is relatively knowledgeable and manages to get the participation of interesting interviewees, his whole show is undermined by his rather ridiculous superficial comments (in reaction to the Bafta nomination of The Lives of Others, he said 'this movie is sooo last year'. Funny that, I thought the important criteria was the film's intrinsic quality rather than how long it'd been talked about) and his rather dubious personal opinions which too often are thrown in lieu of an educated, well-constructed and objective review. And i won't even mention the perhaps most annoying voice ever to work on radio. If you want a more intelligent and less nasty view of films, try Kermode/Mayo, Filmspotting or the BBC Film Programme. All are more entertaining, more intelligent and more broad-minded.Read full review »

I cannot believe this was cancelled. It was absolutely awesome and also complemented Kermode et al. The formula of interview + reviews was excellent. Plus Solomons was a much needed champion of British cinema.
