Jason Solomons presents a well observed film magazine programme. The reviews are intelligent and balanced, without the genre bias that comes with Kermode. The interviews are lively with an emphasis on the films rather than the personalities. Jason is joined by The Guardian's Xan Brooks who adds to the reviews and features. Thanks to Jason and Xan, fantastic work. Has inspired and informed my love of current and classic film. Nothing else covered the same range with such joy, irreverence and panache. Whats left? Mr Potato head and Quiff boy. Dreary :-(

Although Mr Solomon is relatively knowledgeable and manages to get the participation of interesting interviewees, his whole show is undermined by his rather ridiculous superficial comments (in reaction to the Bafta nomination of The Lives of Others, he said 'this movie is sooo last year'....Read full review »
