Poor. Smug, talentless presenters.
The trouble with this podcast is that although these film critics may be good with the written word, they are poor presenters. Their jokes are weak, their attempts at being smart is contrived and their smugness is annoying. Worse, they have no spark and really show why they weren't originally employed for their broadcast skills. They criticize performers for their lack of skills but seem to be oblivious to their own lack of talent. It's pretty embarrassing and annoying most of the time.Read full review »

More reviews of The Guardian's Film Weekly
The Observer has always been my favourite Sunday newspaper and I enjoy film podcasts so I had reasonably high hopes. Unfortunately I found the poscast to lack spirit and I found it not particular informative nor entertaining.

Man, this guy is irritating. He generally covers the right films and gets the good interviews, but if he was any more smug he would disappear up his own backside. I mean, what kind of interviewer talks more than (and over) his guests?! Try Kermode, Filmspotting and Movietime instead.
