Variable quality
First off I want to state I have a lot of respect for Poke Runyon for his great contributions to occultism. Even if you don't agree with his conclusions, you have to give him his due for his work in the occult revival. That said, this show often doesn't match the quality of his books and videos. A large number of the episodes deal with topics of pulp fiction sci-fi or fantasy that isn't particularly magickal. The bigger issue is that Poke can sometimes go off on random tangents or make digressions that are embarrassingly out of touch. It can be a bit like listening to your great-uncle talk about contemporary social issues. It's clear Poke puts a lot of work into preparing the show. If he just put a bit more effort in the studio to stay on track, the show would approach the quality level of his other work.Read full review »

More reviews of The Hermetic Hour
Used to listen to coast to coast back in the day for pre-sleep dream time material. The Hermetic Hour is much better.
