Obviously knowledgeable and smart
but I think that the hosts need to spend more time on show-prep. Lots of "and then this one time, this one thing happened and it was really cool but i don't remember exactly what it was". It's like sitting with history majors having a conversation about history. They know a lot, but sometimes that's quite enough. And seriously...Red Riding Hood and Cinderella? really? With all the interesting actual women in history (or herstory, if you prefer) you're going to spend time on fictional ones? I think that pretty quickly eroded any credibility.Read full review »

As an avid Dan Carlin listener, I am always looking for new stuff and this first podcast was great. I enjoyed learning new things and the human twist they put on a story I thought I knew well! Keep up the good work ladies:)

Love The History Chicks! They have a great conversational style - it feels like you are sitting with your best friends. And great content ! I'm not exactly a history buff but I could learn a lot (and enjoy it!) from Beckett and Susan. Looking forward to the next podcast.Read full review »
