I love history, I love food, and I love gentle snark, so that makes this podcast well nigh perfect. Ms. Hardin happily nerds out on a cornucopia of deliciously obscure food history facts that most people never learned about in school. She also doesn’t shy away from the darker aspects of American food history, like sexism, slavery, indentured servitude, and religious extremism, which provides a welcome and entirely necessary perspective, but she keeps the focus on the food. This is an enlightening and entertaining podcast that I’ve been recommending to and sharing with my friends, and you really should listen to it too.
