Beautifully presented engaging and thought provoking
Discovered this pod cast late last year and listened to all the episodes - more than a decades worth so strap in - in a few months. David has such a love for the subject but doesn’t get (too) entangled in weeds. He makes a good attempt to deal with difficult subjects such as the ‘relationship’ with Ireland and slavery without gloss. Going from early to later episodes is like getting to know a new friend, This podcast clearly started as a hobby, and has evolved into a full time job, but still retains its dry humour and above all pace. So - spoiler alert- shocking to find out four years after the fact that David was very seriously ill in 2019 and do the podcast paused, and I really became invested in his recovery. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Thank you for this past years enjoyment and I anticipate the next year will...Read full review »

In that respect,...Read full review »

David Crowther's style makes this podcast. He has inserted a touch of humour into his presentation style, which has turned the story he's telling into more that just a sequence of events. I thoroughly enjoy this podcast, and is one of my favourites of all genres.Read full review »
