A home for booklovers
I work in a large office resembling that of Joseph K.'s in Orson Welles' adaptation of The Trial. It is not an environment bustling with readers. Rather, it is the sort of place where the carrying of a book is regarded with suspicion by some and vague amusement by others. So I can't stress enough how grateful I am to have found The History of Literature podcast, I feel I'm in the company of kindred souls every time I listen. I enjoy the programme so much in fact that I have begun to rather like my walk into work, while previously I felt each morning like some condemned man catching his last glimpses of freedom before crossing The Bridge of Sighs. If you love books this podcast will engage you, inspire you, lead you to revisit old favourites, and direct you to writers and works that perhaps you've yet to explore.Read full review »
