Rome really rocks !!!
I'm not usually a fan of the history tab on itunes but I stumbled across this podcast a couple of weeks ago, downloaded the first ep and was hooked. The subject is fascinating and the presentation whilst simple (a matter of fact monologue of events with a pithy review where necessary of historical accuracy versus Roman exaggeration/myth) is so entralling that I'm finding myself hoping that the history goes on forever. After 16 episodes I'm at the 300 BC mark - I'm hooked and we haven't even got to the real Roman "empire" yet - listen or miss out !!!Read full review »

A very good historical podcast, thoroughly recommended for anyone with the slightest bit of interest in Roman history. My only complaint would be the length of the episodes - each short, fact-filled podcast leaves you wanting more!

As a Latin teacher, I found this a good source of history readings. However, the reader is monotonal and often mispronounces names and words (according to either Classical or Ecclesiastical pronunciation). I would recommend this as a history resource but not a language resource.
