Great Podcast on Early Christianity
Great podcast. Well researched, balanced, detailed and well narrated. I have been fan of both History of Rome and Byzantium podcasts. With many historical accounts this podcast brings early Church to life showing equally well individual and institutional aspects as well as political context. Often historical accounts bog down in the details or paint everything and everyone in slightly cynical hues. History of the Early Church is not in this vein. You can see how different people in different position making different choices. Yes most of the "actors" in some way "going with the flow", some are driven by self-interest but there are those that make a positive impact. They are the ones that I find inspiring be it a regular roman citizens or a high ranking magistrates or even emperors. Making often truly hard choices in their unique circumstances. Highly recommend to someone who is interested in history of early christianity.Read full review »

Good podcast except for the constant lip smacking and the mispronunciations.

This is an excellent podcast for educating people about early church history. "Calling the Nations" has the best treatment of Peter's vision and explanation of Jewish and Gentile relations that I've heard in a long time.Read full review »

Dr. Moss is a Christian and former professor at Notre Dame who...Read full review »
