Not bad, but inferior to its predecessor
As far as I can tell, "NBA Today" has replaced "NBA Dish with Chad Ford" for the 2008-09 season as the main NBA podcast. NBA dish was a much different program, it was only released occassionally and consisted of long-form interviews with general managers, statistical experts, trainers and other non-players in the NBA business. I really liked Chad Ford as a host and though it was a bit heavy on the draft chatter it quickly became a must-have podcast. Although I like that this one is daily, there's a lot of fluff in it - NBA birthdays, trivia questions, predicting the top scorer for the night's games (they usually pick LeBron or Wade, big surprise). Close to half the show is devoted to fantasy basketball, which I play and enjoy, but it seems like there is a lot more to cover in the league. The interviews are basically all with ESPN staff so far, this may change but it would be great to hear from team officials and other writers. I'm still listening but I liked the longer-form interview podcast better.Read full review »

Espn, what is the problem with doing the podcast everyday. I listen to every podcast for about 2 years now. It's lost something now. Like they didn't have enough money for a podcast everyday. Great podcast.Read full review »

I've stopped listening altogether, even when ESPN columnists that I like are booked for the second half of the show; Smith doesn't do a good job...Read full review »
