In 2011, my daughter and I were invited to a lovely home in West Vancouver, to attend a shower for a friend. Our Turkish hostess, Zinnet Zemenu Ayo and her Iranian husband, Amir Omidvar threw an elegant party for so many people! Little did I know that 9 years later, I would find out so much about their lives! Their daughter, Shayda Omidvar has released a podcast detailing her father's struggles to leave Iran after the revolution and try to get to North America. Shayda spent hours interviewing her father and researching his journey. I've been waiting anxiously for Episode 4, and listened to it as soon as I could, crying tears of sadness and of joy as I listened. I don't know how many episodes there are; I do know I'm in it for the long haul.
