Sarah is super smart and a great podcast host
My only complaint about the first episode is that it discussed the absurdity of hospitals with a lot of bargaining power unilaterally charging high fees, but not the potential concerns about a government with ALL of the bargaining power unilaterally setting low fees. The hypothetical negotiations with Dylan and Matt both seem problematic to me. Is there a reason to think that the government knows what the optimal fee is for every conceivable medical service? I don't know one way or the other, but it would have been helpful to hear that side of the issue. If they were trying to keep the podcast to a certain length, they could have done this piece in a second episode. All that said, I always learn a ton from Sarah. Her explanations are always super clear and her examples are very helpful. Also, if you like this podcast and somehow are not listening to the Weeds, you should definitely check that out too.Read full review »

As a social worker, I can attest to the fact that policy impacts virtually all facets of our lives. I have long been a fan of Sarah's health care reporting, and this podcast takes that in a different, more relatable direction.Read full review »

Can not wait to hear more. I recently heard about a child’s bedtime bear (a stuffed teddy bear from the gift store - $16 - to help them sleep) was categorized as a sleep aid and cost the family $800.
