Glad she's back but...
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED the KFI radio show in the past: chock full of great advice, daily slices of motivation, a must-have podcast for anyone with fitness goals. Jillian is charismatic, well-spoken, and above all else blunt. She puts things into perspective. And the best part of all, it's a podcast for everyone: losing weight, getting fit, gaining weight. (And I LOVE Janice, so happy she's got a bigger role this time around!) My only concern with this current podcast is her pandering to the mega-food companies that helped to land our country in the obesity epidemic in the first place. In the KFI days Jillian was doggedly for eating organic, buying local, eating clean, reading your labels etc...but now (especially the General Mills episode) she's gone back on what made her so great in the first place. Accepting corporate sponsorships, and giving airtime to these companies isn't the best thing (IMO) and I think detracts from who Jillian is and what she once stood for. I expected her to still carry the same torch for fighting for a process-free America. It almost makes me wonder if she's getting money from places like General Mills to present them in this way. Perhaps I'm being too cynical but it's why I'd only give this podcast 4 stars. I could do without the corporate name-dropping in this podcast. Here's to the hope she'll bring back the gusto she had in the KFI days.Read full review »
