Vocal fry
I hate to pile on but I couldn’t get through the first episode due to the vocal fry. In most professions it’s probably unfair to judge a performance on voice but in the case of a podcast I think it is very fair territory. The story is good, engaging, and flows well from what I heard.

Gez Louise. It's so bad I can't listen. And I'm really interested in this story!Read full review »

Sounds like a really interesting story but couldn’t get through the first 15 minutes. The narrator sounds like she’s whining in every sentence she reads. I couldn’t focus on what was being said because that ended up being the only thing my mind could think about.

Have enjoyed and recommended a couple of Serial Production’s podcasts: seasons one and three. Two episodes into Rutherford County, and I’m hooked. I live in Tennessee and taught HS in an urban school for many, many years; am much aware of inequity in juvenile justice. Thank you.
