Narrator
I agree with the other comment that they way the narrator drops down at the end of every sentence is difficult to listen to. It’s very uncomfortable. It seems like a device that would be very effective if used to highlight particularly horrible events-and yes this whole story is particularly horrible but when used this way, the device calls attention to itself and draws attention away from the story.

Two episodes in. This is an important topic with engaging reporting. With Serial and the New York Times behind this podcast, I would think they could have provided some voice training to the journalist. The delivery is a bit distracting.

I’ve only started listening to the first episode and it sounds like a good podcast & story. But, this narrator’s voice is so hard to listen to. The vocal fry and valley girl cadence is so grating. Unfortunate.
