A confident, fun, perfect perspective on French history
This podcast proved immediately addicitng. It tackles big moments in French history from unexpected (and necessary) angles like food, urban planning, and courtesans while making these events seem like they just happened yesterday (apperently the Marquise de Sade and Otto von Bismark were back-to-back troll champions of the world). Diana's an immediate star of the podcasting world, with a warm voice the microphone loves, a crisp and sometimes teasing writing style, and a deft ear for music cues. Highly recommended for lovers of Karina Longworth's You Must Remember This.Read full review »

Really well done, only wish each episode was longer and had even more details! The recent Dumas series was particularly great I can't believe I didn't know all that. Been a great podcast to listen to before our planned trip to France this spring.Read full review »

Loved the first episode! I've studied French history, but I've never heard this take on Bastille Day. Super interesting and well recorded! Thanks!Read full review »
