Incredibly thoughtful discussions about what’s happening in the world and how the Church is being called in our time. Sober yet resiliently hopeful the conversations are well informed by voices across the globe and history.

I have long appreciated Mark’s ability to summarize current news affairs into broader critiques of the secular culture wars and the shifting world order. But as someone who is from the Global South, the incredible whiteness of this worldview in recent episodes, particularly referencing the Middle...Read full review »

Wow, this podcast is so good! I am listening to it doing some workout but I started to listen to it on my desk taking notes while learning tons of things. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!

I’m an avid podcast listener and this one is my favorite. Right mix of insight with deft cultural analysis and covering of global trends, all wrapped in wise counsel for church leaders. I appreciate that Sayers is sober and honest without being cynical which is too common with Christian podcasts....Read full review »

Mark Sayers is an Australian Pastor who has a pulse on all sorts of changing issues in our day. While I normally skip the 5-minutes of banter at the beginning, I respect that Sayers brings a human element to cultural analysis and how he frequently places hope in Christ despite the issues that...Read full review »

Mark and his team have been a breath of fresh air as they have humbly and thoughtfully dissected world events through the lens of scripture. All of their analysis is anchored in how this can inform our prayers and postures for those living as citizens of the Kingdom of heaven. As one living in...Read full review »

100% love this show. I recently started listening and am working through the whole history. Terrific. One tiny request. Mark, could you stop using “sort of” as your only qualifier? If you can do that, then you’ll be perfect! And Liddy is great also. Essential to the show. These words come to you...Read full review »

Every Christian needs to lean into every word! You’ll be helped and most importantly encouraged. “For such a time as this”

Mark has the gift of illustrating how the good news of the gospel shines light into the cultural darkness or grey areas in our postmodern and increasingly secular culture. Rather than pointing fingers to one political party or movement for our cultural woes, Mark helps us interpret this unique...Read full review »

As a student of much of what Mark presents (thoughts on human secularism, post modern culture, post-Christian culture, current events, etc.), I find myself thankful for this unique and well thought out perspective

My first listen. THANKYOU - I just listened to your Nov 24th podcast - I’ve been pastoring our current church after planting it 20 years ago - but now everything is up for change & reinvention - you have left me with hope to continue on to reach out to lost & lonely people with Jesus love...Read full review »

If there was a 6th star I’d give it. I’m a long time fan of Mark’s work from previous podcast series THIS CULTURAL MOMENT to books like VERTICAL SELF and REAPPEARING CHURCH. This podcast takes everything you’re feeling/thinking/sensing about culture and the world at large and puts perfect words to it. It’s eye-opening, clarifying, illuminating, and assuring — always ending with a vision of hope for the follower of Jesus.

There is simply no one better than Mark Sayers at analyzing and synthesizing world and cultural events for the Christian to understand. I highly recommend.

Mark and his crew don’t cast themselves as authorities or prophets, but as compassionate and concerned sojourners. The casual, coffee house vibe is enjoyably contrasted with the weighty, high stakes topics and perspectives. More than anything, it is a conversation of hope which is made possible...Read full review »

This is a podcast which encourages deeper thinking, and also encourages. Laidback delivery, horizon broadening, great if your thinking is in a rut. Much wisdom to be found here if you have any sort of pastoral or leadership rôle.

This is a must for all those who have been hurt by a church, but still have a sense that God was working in the midst of it. I am a local church leader in Tennessee, USA and have been so encouraged by these conversations. I’ve gotten a lot out of listening to this. It is helped clarify and give insight into the challenges we face. I highly recommend the podcast. My only suggestion is I wish Mark would stop saying “it’s really interesting” so often. It’s a bit distracting.

I first heard Mark speak in Belfast. This is a very useful continuation of similar themes: identity; culture and the Church.

Guys! Such a great start! Loving it already. Just a little tip Liddy- try to not agree out aloud with mark as he speaks. I know it’s super hard (maybe nod :)) but it is media interviewing 101, and to the listener it sounds grating. Haha Love you guys x
