Informative and fun, probably the best economics podcast in Canada. The hosts are great at distilling economic concepts for ordinary investors. If you want to understand the problems that plague Canada right now, this is a terrific source.

Great insights on Canadian economy, real estate and markets provided against backdrop of politics and world markets - and a lot of fun to listen to Listener alert - definitely not for commies :)

You really need to do your own research as they really love echo-chamber lobbyists as the their guest speakers.

Been listening for a while and really enjoy the economic commentary. Filling an important niche as there’s so little good Canadian analysis out there. Imo Keith increasingly veers into Facebook dad conspiracy theories that the other hosts would do well to push back harder on.

The hosts opinions against current government and all regulations can be a bit much. Effective government needs to act as an intermediary between the free market and the citizens they serve. If free market forces cause overly negative results the government should step in with regulations - even...Read full review »

They keep talking about how policies are preventing investors from taking stock away from normal citizens. That’s the whole point of these policies. Canadians need to STOP f-ing investing in real estate it’s ruining society.

The boys of the Loonie hour really know their stuff, from Macro, micro, government policies and real estate. You really get a broader view of the economy and I love their humour. Thanks for the great content!

Love the topics, love the content, obviously 5 stars, but you guys really gotta put some effort on the audio levels, these episodes are harder and harder to listen to, the voices are so quiet I can’t even listen to on headphones, I’d say everything could be brought up 8-10db.

Great source of truth on the Canadian economy. Keep up the good work.

One of the few bright spots of this podcast, is Rich’s point of view on oil. He’s 100% spot on.

Great content guys. Politics and economics

Each week seems to have less about finance and economics and more needless cheap political commentary. No need to go after the CBC every ten minutes.

Listening to your podcast I have a lot of trouble buying into the above noted statement. Canada was a great country. Canadians continue to vote for the man that has destroyed the country. What else needs to be said? Fat and happy Canadians are so hyped up on fentanyl and cannabis that...Read full review »

Love the voices from across Canada. Folks keep commenting that they’re too political, but what I hear most is that they are open to criticizing the policy of the day. It’s not their fault, nor evidence of a slant, that the federal government has been the same party for last 8 years.

These boys bring something special to macro/finance pods! Bringing their wealth of experience in real estate, macro-economics and markets, The Loonie Hour makes for an informative and entertaining listen. Their specifically Canadian perspective is refreshing and a great juxtaposition to otherwise...Read full review »

The hosts break down some hot topics. At times get a bit political, but for me it just means they care. Hard to stay neutral these days. Keep it up folks!

Really enjoy the financial dissection and bringing it into economic policy and then to todays politics. Smart and funny.

Right wing hosts bashing the federal government.
20349088 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 03/10/24
Generally speaking, the content is good but they are way too political. Half the show is about real estate/investing, the other half is anti environment content and other extreme right wing rhetoric.

The best financial podcast in Canada

Great show and terrific guest. Looking forward to learning about our other natural resources (mining, forestry and of course oil & gas). Keep up the great work.

We listen every week just think it’s the best financial podcast out there

Listened for almost a year, not as good lately due to ads, guests, and way too much non-finance discussion (weird amount of energy policy, railing against the liberal party)

Last couple of episodes were so political and negative. I’m out. I sure wished they stayed in their topic of Canadian investing instead of all the antienvironmental and political negativity.

Been following Steve on X for a while and just found out he has a show and I like it. Full of facts, data oriented, very insightful.

Ad placement makes the show hard to listen to. Needs a bigger pause between banter and ads.

So refreshing to tie into these informed conversations. Just listened to your reflections about coal & renewables… so nice to hear educated/informed guys chat common sense.

Really smart people having intelligent and funny conversations.

The show has overall good production value and covers most of the news items however, I’ve noticed that the hosts are ver very very biased to the point of often portraying and spreading misinformation. If you listen to a bunch of other shows with this one then you have nothing to worry about,...Read full review »

Have been a listener since episode 1. The trio each contribute their expertise to peel back the curtain on global finance and its impact for the everyday Canadian. I still think there is over use of the term “roll over” but otherwise 5 stars.

Really enjoy this podcast. Knowledgeable guys! I appreciate that they record it on Thursday and post it early Friday. It’s up to date even though they are spread over 8 time-zones.
