Condescending and Sensationalistic
The host, Dr. Michelle Ward, speaks about these defendants, victims, and cases in a gleeful, gossipy, unprofessional tone. Very off-putting. She also often adopts a very self-satisfied manner, as though she's "cracking the case" or making deep psychological insights. That's *definitely* not happening! The worst part, in my opinion, is that she claims to *know* things she can't possibly know: which defendant is lying and when, which defendant truly acted in self defense, etc. That's some seriously unethical "journalism," Dr. Ward. The idea is a good one-- interviewing the actual perpetrators of crimes in search of psychological insights. But the execution leaves much to be desired. If you're looking for a serious exploration of the "mind of a murderer," this isn't it. Like others have said, the host reminds me of Nancy Grace. *cringe*Read full review »
