The minefield presents an interesting discussion and exploration of ideas. Very enjoyable listening. In relation to disinformation and conspiracy theories in history, these were at astronomical levels around the French Revolution and between WW1 and 2 in Germany and in Rwanda prior to the...Read full review »

Such an informative and interesting discussion. Thank you for the opportunity to learn more by listening to The Minefield podcast.

Dear Aunty, This program is too important right now not to find a way to continue broadcasting. While we “look at the numbers!/Don’t look at the numbers!”, there are larger meanings, truths & wisdom that we will miss without the guidance that this program brings. While our material...Read full review »

Dear Minefield, Thank you for existing in a world jammed with meaningless noise!! Every week I look forward to driving to work with your thoughtful, probing and deep insights and reflections. Your podcasts reminds me I can find meaning in the madness !! Keep it up!! With much respect, Robyn

Interesting subject matter and fun listening. However, I find Scott’s flowery use of language annoying. He seems to need to use three words when one would do. Sometimes I also think they could do with out their guest because Scott is too busy talking to let them say anything.

A brilliant, insightful and thought provoking podcast that goes beneath the surface film of current affairs or the quotidian to address existential and moral matters. These guys absolutely rock!

Seeing one or two controversial reviews here .. seems Aussies still have this anti-intellectualism attitude in Australia .. I love that I don’t always get it at first but this podcast makes me think HARD and contemplate .. great brain food for the mind ! How can you not love Waleed’s soothing...Read full review »

If you like listening to the self-appointed smartest men in the room, you’ll love this intelligentsia banker festival between two blokes who are so high on their own supply, they need a parachute from their superior intellectual altitude. It’s precocious, pretentiousness all the way to 11.

I listen regularly but Scott Stephens tends to dominate the conversation and I want him to stop talking and let the guest and Waleed Aly speak more. He makes valid points but he takes so long to make them.

A huge fan. Need an episode on the virtues of Prog rock. Really enjoying the “Not quite a book club” specials. Great fun.

Try as I can to understand these podcasts I find I do not have the specific knowledge required. e.g. a throwaway reference to Beck vs Cant - what? Many of the topics sound interesting, and I can keep up with about 75% of the general comments but then I’m lost. Sorry, I can’t keep listening to...Read full review »

I think this podcast would be great if Scott could control his love of hearing his own voice. Often he talks so much that Waleed and the guests don’t have enough time to respond in depth. Maybe Scott could just have his own podcast so that he doesn’t have to share the airspace at all.

I’ve recently discovered this podcast and really enjoy it. A couple of comments though: Scott in particular is I feel reluctant to reconsider his strongly held points of view, and he can be pompous. Waleed is more measured, but I don’t think you need this contrast for the hosts to have chemistry....Read full review »

I must admit that when I first heard this program I thought it was called ‘The Mindfield’. I’m a bit surprised that it had taken you pair this long to question the name of the show.

As the title says….Scott often interrupts Waleed to continue making his point. Hell often say “can I just make this point?” just as Waleed is halfway through making his. If you can sort this out, it will become 5 stars for me. Thanks guys.

Great episode, but the actress at the end of The Graduate is Katherine Ross (Elaine) not Anne Bancroft (who played Mrs Robinson)

I first fell in love with this podcast because of their respectful disagreement in the dark ages (the LNP/ Trump playbook), but now I love the podcast for the sheer intellect and thought provoking critique to our world. Thanks Walleed and Scott for bringing me into your sphere and your heads!

Love waleed, I always enjoy listening to him and search for him across all media! I am struggling to understand Scott though, sometimes there is a lot of chat and it’s not clear what he is trying to say. Bit more succinct would be nice

I’m listening to your repeat program about political comedy, and while I’m appreciative of your intellectual review of comedy, and how it has become political etc etc Here’s a thought….comedians satirising politics and politicians….isn’t one reason comedians do this, is to make us laugh at a...Read full review »

I have been a long time listener and whilst not every show is to my taste intellectually, I have generally enjoyed the hosts and guests. I enjoy Wally and Scott’s discussion. As a student of buddhadharma, I am regularly frustrated by the lack of input from the massive contribution to ethics and morality by scholars from the east, animists and others.

Scott and Walid’s perspective on everything from TV shows to major world events is essential listening for me. I’m hoping they’ll do an ep on “community resilience” and how Governments and others in positions of power who use it as an excuse to not properly resource responses to disasters.
