“Those with clearly very fragile egos leaving negative reviews entirely motivated by political ideology should be ignored. They are as pathetic as they are blinded by bias. One ought to be able to appreciate a well-produced piece of work even if one does not share the views of those making it, but in today’s world the parade of triggered (most likely) men having tantrums is evidence that polarisation has destroyed the ability of many to appreciate true journalism. What do you expect from a load of Trump-supporting drones unable to think for themselves? The same goes of course for the reviews patently left by investors in Safe Worlds who cannot accept reality. Realising that the jig is up and that you have been fooled is part and parcel of moving forwards in the aftermath of a scam. Might be time to wake up.
This was a very interesting podcast. Being British I knew nothing about the case and I enjoyed every episode. Whilst the investigation may not have led to the ground-breaking discovery of the money’s location, that failure was always a possibility and there are many other podcasts out there that do not achieve their stated aims. Such an outcome does not magically erase the otherwise fascinating story of this con.
I’m sorry that some people are so cruel and unpleasant that they cannot bear a trans person existing, let alone them contributing to a podcast, but if any of you idiots truly claim to be Christians why are you not practising compassion? When were subjugation and oppression ever values that Jesus would have espoused? You’re all hypocrites and it’s frankly hilarious that you think that leaving a one star review like a whiny crybaby is somehow going to make all those nasty trans people and the many other groups you dislike disappear. Grow up and accept the world like an adult. Live and let live. Why are you permitted the freedom to live as you wish, but devote so much of your time attempting to deprive others of the same? Stop wasting the short lives we are granted mired in hatred and bitterness. As an aside it was odd that so many of the notorious Conservatives known to have consorted with Alan Metcalfe and supposedly devoted to their appalling and reductive views refused to even provide the podcast with a statement affirming their position. Hmm.
Thank you to the host and creators for this thought-provoking podcast. I was especially interested by the foray into the ghastly arena of American politics.
One area I would have explored (and the reviews here simply throw further fuel onto this particular fire) is the gender of investors hoodwinked by Alan. The overwhelming majority of investors seemed to be men and couples where the husband overrode the wishes of his wife. These men seemed to be completely taken in almost to the point of brainwashing by the scheme. That seems quite fascinating to me. Why on earth these people handed over large sums without doing any due diligence is utterly bewildering, but I suppose dressing up a con as something approximating a religious cult helps in that regard.”
