“Normally you're prepared to stand in line for at least half an hour in all kinds of weather. You're willing to pay the $6 cover (which, by the way, is ridiculously cheap). You might be unable to secure a seat in the packed venue. And yet, you enjoy what happens at The Moth StorySLAMS so much that you don't really care. The intense feeling of intimacy with the storyteller on the stage. The roaring of the audience in response to the progression of the stories. The beer you're drinking. All this is part of The Moth Experience – something which I've unfortunately been prevented from experiencing during the last couple of months. Not because I'm not willing to stand in line anymore. Not because the price is too high. But being more than 8 hours from New York (by direct plane!!) means that I'm finding it – let's say – difficult to make it to all the events… THEREFORE, the brand new Moth Podcast is a godsend to me. The stories are brilliant. Told by some of my all-time-favorite storytellers. Now, I'm able to enjoy the stories in my home, accompanied by a homemade (very large, and very dry) martini, and when I close my eyes, I can almost smell the room – I can almost feel the audience – feel the muted background beat of New York. I'm there, and I feel great. And actually: even if you have never been there. Never been standing in THAT line. Never paid THOSE six bucks. Even then, when you might only enjoy it half as much as I do, it's still worth it. It's brilliant. Thank you!”Read full review »

This podcast is like having a portable book with me, that has lively, and likeable readers who tell varied,...”Read full review »
