“I am a regular, happy listener of The Moth. I'm also 51, white, and I was raised in the south. We had segregated swimming, and I was raised with the certainty that Black people didn't swim because they didn't have the same buoyancy as white people. I really appreciated this episode. I appreciated learning the facts about how black bodies swim just as well as white bodies, but that there are historical prejudices that kept the Black community from developing swimming skills. I especially appreciated the commentary about black women's hair care and swimming. Thank you for bringing this episode to me. I learned a lot.”Read full review »

“If you're a fan of "slice of life" type stories, you'll love The Moth. Most of the storytellers are very entertaining, and at times it feels like an abbreviated version of "This American Life" on NPR. Very enjoyable.”Read full review »
