“I am a regular, happy listener of The Moth. I'm also 51, white, and I was raised in the south. We had segregated swimming, and I was raised with the certainty that Black people didn't swim because they didn't have the same buoyancy as white people. I really appreciated this episode. I appreciated learning the facts about how black bodies swim just as well as white bodies, but that there are historical prejudices that kept the Black community from developing swimming skills. I especially appreciated the commentary about black women's hair care and swimming. Thank you for bringing this episode to me. I learned a lot.”Read full review »
