“I am a recently-mostly-retired Geologist/Geophysicist, originally from the USA but based in Alberta, Canada since 1989. Nick's podcasts fill a great hole in my life brought on by the loss of my career and by the isolation and loss of the frequent travel I have always enjoyed brought on by COVID-19. I learned my geology at Whitworth University in Spokane, not far from Nick, forty years ago, and have traveled the world since then, learning the geology of three continents with the oil and gas industry. But it is wonderful to come 'home' to Washington State and see the astonishing things that have been learned since I was a university student there in 1980. I'm astonished at how important the podcasts and videos have become to me, providing me with the weekly structure, purpose and intellectual stimulation - the loss of which I have been mourning from my career being over. I think Nick is, in a very unheralded way, providing an immensely important service to thousands of people and should be recognised and rewarded for his very selfless work.”Read full review »

“I found the podcast from the livestream from home. I enjoy listening while out and about. Interesting introduction to geology and geology in the Pacific Northwest. Nick is personable, knowledgable and fantastic at explaining geological processes.”
