Discovery and Voyager have killed another podcast which is a shame but the coverage of Trek on this podcast is worth the listen! The hosts have some really well thought out points of view on the franchise and even when i don't agree they are at least understandable thoughts and entertaining...Read full review »

Great show. Love listening I just wish the old TNG podcast was included here and on Spotify

Why is this podcast rated “clean” when profanity abounds? Just wondering.

The main host, Wes, seems to have become pretty negative on Star Trek as a whole. The co-host, Clay, frequently goes off on tangents about other shows to the point of distraction. He also can’t remember most of the episodes that he has watched, and usually doesn’t remember parts of the episode...Read full review »

I wanted this. I wanted to listen to two normal guys talk about Star Trek. I’ve watched them all (except Picard), the content may work but for me the explicatives are an immediate turn off.

I’ve been going through Star Trek accompanied by Mission Log, which is an adequate enough podcast, but I’m catching up to where they are and wanted to keep going. I searched out another comparably good podcast and this is perfect. Similar tone, very few rabbit trails and excellent commentary. And...Read full review »

Clay is delightful, offering open-minded, perceptive and whimsical takes. Pensky is limited as a contributor (big fan of 90s Jean-Luc and robots; somehow has a problem with every woman character) but remarkably amiable as a host for great collaborators. The sometimes acerbic tone is overly...Read full review »

I’m new to Trek and watching in chronological order starting with Enterprise. These 2 guys are the perfect companion.

I love that he is not woke. I can’t take that crap. Clay is great. Sean is always great! Penske is not very political not clearly left or right as far as I can tell and that’s all that matters in that department. It’s analytical and funny and not woke like a certain Star Trek Episode reviewer I...Read full review »

If you’re after a podcast that isn’t unabashedly gushing in its praise or unrelentingly negative for no real reason then this is the show for you. Balance mixed with perceptive insights into every iteration of the franchise and a unique take on the writing and production of Trek makes this a...Read full review »

Really enjoy the rapport between Wes and Clay as they review Trek both good and bad!

I love this show. One wee gripe I have is that none of the TNG reviews are on here. That being said, if my only problem with a show is that there’s not enough of it, they must be doing something right.

Love the podcast, especially when Clay is on to help with the analysis. I don’t find the other guests to be as organized or prepared for the the discussions. If the host and Clay had another podcast on movies, for instance, I’d definitely listen . Keep up the good work.

Wes and Clay’s musings on Star Trek are always interesting. This is an excellent podcast for anyone who wants to listen to two people taking their time to share their thoughts about the star trek universe. Pretty much my favourite podcast and has been for some time.

I love this podcast. Wes and Clay have a great natural rapport and very pleasant, radio-friendly voices. They go through each Star Trek episode, providing intelligent, engaging commentary and they know not to overstay their welcome. It’s just a pleasure to listen to. I’m not one to review podcasts but I felt I had to comment. Whilst I like a good analysis “Picard series”, the level of depth of the critique is bonkers compared to how much detail they actually pay to the episodes. Clay actually says “I don’t pay attention” in the last episode after ranting...Read full review »

This podcast does a good job of exploring episodes without being too thorough. Wes and Clay keep things light with humor and make a really enjoyable program to listen to.

The Pensky Podcast has amiable, thoughtful and often very witty guests who work off each other very well and are expertly channeled by Wes, an open-minded, intelligent...Read full review »

I was halfway through their TNG series when suddenly.. they’re all gone. The episodes are now beginning from DS9. Listening makes me Appreciate the show on a whole be level. Think about what makes a good episode and what makes a bad one. What could have been changed. Wes has great insights and frequent guest Clay adds humor, but had great insight as well. Patreon supporters get to weigh in as well. Great Show!

I’ve tried what feels like every Star Trek podcast on the planet, especially episode recap shows. This is, BY FAR, my favorite ST podcast. The Pensky File is a great Trek podcast, as it goes in depth with each of its episodes in a both critical and fun nature. I like that they approach each different series on its own level. The choice of quote for the DS9 section shows a lot of insight. I often disagree with their final opinion, but their analysis is always well-done.
