Everyone is relaxed in Simon’s company. I particularly enjoyed the interview with the then Prince Charles. It was as though both he and Simon were sitting in our living room with birds, flowers, butterflies flitting about and a barn owl watching from the rafters. The time flew by in no time at...Read full review »

conversation between, what sounds like, old pals: especially the episode with John Tiffany. Very much looking forward to a new series of gentle banter, wit and humour, along with kind observations and genuine, intimate conversations. Thank you! Simon - I love the humour, the softness of your interviews, the diverse range of people passing by your shed, and your voice. You have reawakened this 63 year old to poetry. Don’t stop!

Should get your brother deported to America to face his charges of rape on minors just a thought I think it would benefit the wider community. Do you Prince Philip?

It has been a real joy to have a second series of podcasts from Simon Armitage, as the first series helped get me through lockdown! How refreshing to have a conversation about nature and creativity with such interesting guests, especially those who made it to the shed! I love the accents, the...Read full review »

I’ve just discovered this podcast and I can really recommend it. Simon Armitage has a lovely relaxed interviewing style. He puts his guests at ease and asks thoughtful questions. My favourite episode, as a northerner in exile, is the interview with Guy Garvey. I learned a lot about both of them....Read full review »

What a wonderful series. Each conversation so interesting and thoughtful and often amusing. Have listened to several more than once. What an inspired idea. Just wish I could see the view the guests see.

Please don’t stop. I want these podcasts to go on forever. The poet listens, I listen, he asks a well though out question. The snow or the sky? I answer it, the guest answers it. The frog croaks his woody croak. I could go on.

This is just sumptuous. The language and discussions are a joy to listen to. Interesting and warm and joyful. I just wish I could see some of the things talked about (and a taste of the sherry!)

So glad The Poet is back in his Shed! Hope his guests realise what an honour to have a haiku written for them by SA ...

Just begun listening today & thoroughly enjoyed it! It feels like you’re the third friend in the conversation. P.S I clean Simon’s Mum & Dad’s windows 😉

This is an excellent podcast. It is interesting and the guests are very relaxed in the shed. Maybe there could be a reading thrown in? Top marks. Truly enjoyed it.

Thank you Simon Armitage I loved going on this journey with you to explore this mysterious old poem. Your guests were fascinating and I found every episode very soothing to listen to.

Really enjoyable podcast. As someone who was put off poetry by over inflated egos reading same, I love the down to earthiness of these conversations. Recommended to a friend!

Didn’t know what to expect but loved it. Funny and poignant at the same time with no arty pretentious. Great guests so far bring more on

Happened on this tonight. Two of my absolute heroes talk about writing and singing and sherry. Like a glass of sherry sitting on the top of Standedge watching the sun go down. Perfect. More please.
