Always love listening to PVO. Thoughtful. Reasonable.

It appears TPATH has taken a hiatus but I am dying to know when you will be back! I am dying to hear what you both think about the referendum and the general state of politics. Come back soon!

I have just started to listen again after an absence and I find the volume much too low. I turn up my phone to the highest volume but I still can’t hear you. All my other podcasts are fine. Is there some way to fix this pls? Penny.

Hugh and Peter are great political analysts and have an informative and entertaining format. Look forward to it each week.

One would think a doctor of politics may put forward an apolitical commentary. Rather to the contrary, he is still pushing a political spin that has burned since his dismal prediction of the 2019 election. This is “help labor at all costs to save face” type dribble

I really like this podcast. Really interesting views. I wish it would be posted weekly! Sometimes I need my craving filled. Both PVO and Hugh have really good insight into the issues. Although, I find that PVO has much more insight into economic and political issues than social issues.

PVO PLEASE stop saying ‘ya know’ every second sentence! It’s a very poor gap-filler. Take a breath instead. You obviously don’t know how often you say it. I’m very impressed with your commentary - but your continual ‘ya know-ing’ detracts from your work. Listen to ANY of your podcasts (or,...Read full review »

Hugh is great - very much in that that elder, respected Australian journo tradition. Big contrast with Peter who is not great at dealing with opposing viewpoints or ideas outside his experience or reading.

I usually enjoy this podcast but Van Onselen’s lack of insight regarding the dynamics of power and sexual abuse in the most recent episode was stunning. Perhaps the news today regarding serious allegations of misogyny and bullying helps to contextualise this apparent attitude. I will now be...Read full review »

Ep 113 discussion was interesting.. Hugh Riminton I APPLAUD 👏🏻 YOU 👏🏻 for your deep thought and sharing your opinion.. PVO, it was interesting (and can I say, disappointing!) to hear you dig in- your lack of empathy for the opposing viewpoint (despite claiming to ‘listen’, which you don’t...Read full review »

The episode on their views on Grace Tame’s appropriate response to a grifting patronising PM who has basically let a culture of rape in the People’s House and in the lives of so many girls and women was an embarrassment to themselves. Two white men talking about the way that a woman ought to...Read full review »

In this episode, Hugh clearly disagreed with PVO’s position, strongly presenting the arguments which have been made in support of Grace Tame’s advocacy. Does PVO see Hugh as disrespecting his position? Strongly disagreeing, questioning of motives in elevating a position in the national press,...Read full review »

Propaganda… disgusting victim blaming mouthpiece for the right. Unbalanced journalism at its worst. Do not listen to this if you want to be informed on what’s happening on the political scene.

You can’t say definitively that there would have been more debt under the ALP. They would have done things differently. Businesses that made a profit wouldn’t have been able to keep job keeper payments, people working an hour a week wouldn’t have received $750.00. I seriously think you’re just...Read full review »

PVO is so obsessed with the trickery of politics, he’s lost sight of humanity. A widespread problem in Australia

Why not mention Israel was the aggressor rather than parakeet the right wing authoritarian if you can’t kick out Trump so don’t take away the ability to oust the leader.

Easy solution so this podcast survives- Get someone with the same academic/ political insights as Peter (preferred female for a change.) Simple . PVO has to GO! Ewwww.

PVO
Sorry Hugh. I used to really enjoy listening to this back when PVO had some credibility, but I can’t stand the sound of his voice now. To use a woman’s mental illness to attack her credibility is the lowest of the low. It would be so easy for him to listen & apologise, but until he...Read full review »

I respect the Hack ( he knows his stuff and I loved his work on Sunday Extra on Radio National) but you PVO have really disappointed me in so many ways in the last 5 weeks. I find it really difficult now to listen to you. I think I will have to stop listening to this Podcast.

I like Hugh but absolutely refuse to listen/read/watch anything with PVOs name on it. Publishing the diaries of a dead woman and discrediting her allegations against his mate due to mental health is cooked behaviour.

Hugh - love your work. The interview with Grace was brilliant. This is what we need from men - for them to listen to women & to elevate them. Plenty of people have already outlined the disgraceful behaviour of PVO & I agree. But I’m not someone who subscribes to cancel culture, I believe...Read full review »

PVO discussing how traumatic it must be for victims of historical sexual abuse cases to be cross examined and scrutinised felt incredibly disingenuous after the lengths he went to to try and discredit Porter’s accuser in The Australian last weekend. I can’t listen anymore. He makes me feel...Read full review »

Sickening that a man who employed DARVO tactics to defend his mate who is accused of rape, is discussing Sexual Assault Law reform. The men of Australia media are beyond tone deaf. PVO
Read the room. PVO is not the person to be talking about anything in relation to March4Justice. He’s not a bystander, he’s part of the problem. Used to be such a fan, but I can’t support PVO anymore. First of all, journalists should not be friends or have personal relationships with politicians, it’s a conflict of interest and brings their integrity into question. However, I’m ‘cancelling’ pvo because he chose to use his position of...Read full review »

The professor may be book smart but has zero emotional intelligence. The role he played in attacking a sexual assault survivor was appalling. Sorry, Hugh, but your mate is the worst.

Can no longer listen to PVO. He has hopelessly comprised himself on CP matter, and published material without doing sufficient research into sexual assault. Enough is enough!

I enjoyed this podcast but am unsubscribing because PVO has been unable to reconcile his conflict of interest. He has been blindly defending an alleged rapist because of a personal friendship.

This week’s episode with Grace Tame was fabulous. Unfortunately I am going to unsubscribe to this podcast because of the disgraceful tactics of PVO on the very topics to whichGrace is trying to bring awareness. I have been listening for over a year but I just cannot continue now

Appreciate having Grace Tame on the pod. Interesting that PVO is doing all he can to discredit a dead woman’s account of rape (the accused being PVO best mate) while also having a sexual abuse survivor on the pod (aware that PVO wasn’t on this role). Was so glad to hear someone other than PVO on the latest episode. I don’t think he can realistically be impartial on current politics and his appearance on Insiders was tone deaf. Thank you for showing all survivors some respect.

I continue to be impressed by this amazing woman. Great interview Hugh. And thanks to PVO for taking a break. I hope he listens to this podcast and sees how his own actions (insiders) recently are part of the institutional assault that Grace speaks of.
