Interesting story. Had to listen on 1.5 speed to keep from disengaging. Won’t be buying the book.

Good production value but “eh” reporting and delivery. Short little snips to advertise for his book. Author looked for and reported upon facts that supported his forgone conclusion that this woman was just a poor victim of political racism and circumstance.

This story is important for various reasons and I am glad someone took the time to investigate the truth and provide perspective into someone’s personal trauma and how it influenced a urban racialized myth

I was really intrigued by the subject. I was not aware that the welfare queen archetype was based on a real person and how far that archetype skewed from reality. I wanted to hear an in depth report.
